About Utkarsh Monga
A young, passionate, optimistic, and active hospitality student and a food enthusiast at George Brown College with a passion to work in the Culinary industry. I have studied commerce for 3 years but after finishing my degree in commerce, I decided to leave it behind and just follow my passion for cooking. Food is the one thing that always brings joy to me. Being a chef for me means I get to spread that joy and happiness among people. Being born and brought up in India I have very good understanding on many kinds of spices and aromatics. I have technical hands-on knowledge on molecular gastronomy techniques like spherification, using different types of gelatins, making foam/air and also how to use liquid nitrogen safely for preparing food items. One of the main reasons for me to come to Canada all the way from India was to explore and gain knowledge about as many ingredients as I can. There are many ingredients that are not easy to procure in India sometimes like beef and pork because of religious constraints or geographical constraints.I would love this opportunity to work in an establishment which not only focuses on customer satisfaction through food service but also takes an initiative in being sustainable at the same time.

- As an intern managed the hotel guest buffet (breakfast and lunch) at the 24hr restaurant and café.
- Managed the cold cuts, cheese, salad bar and the juice section. I was responsible for setting, refilling everything in the buffet and also interact with the guests for any specific needs.
