I lead the "Improving integrated landscape management on the Zunil Atitlán Balam Juyu biocultural corridor" (The Nature Conservancy - Darwin Initiative) project team, in charge of project management, procurement, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing.

I coordinated a methodological proposal, analyzed results and developed the final report on the assessment of aboveground forest carbon estimation in mosaic landscapes within two Pacific coast watersheds.

I developed the course's syllabus and teached between 25 and 40 undergraduate students. I was in charge of all the course's activities, including managing an online classes portal and coordinating field trips to Guatemala's Western Highlands.

Responsible for project M&E activities, providing guidance to project staff on M&E procedures; periodically analyzed M&E data as an input for adaptive management decisions; coordinated, co-authored, edited, reviewed and translated administrative and technical documents including quarterly reports, annual reports, work plans, environmental mitigation and monitoring plans, and technical deliverables reports related to climate change mitigation.

USAID Low Emission Development Project, Guatemala. Expanded previous work on GHG inventories and carbon footprint estimation, while also developing MRV systems and digital tools to pursue sustainability in low emission development practices by producers´ associations; developed, edited and reviewed technical reports related to climate change mitigation.

USAID Low Emission Development Project, Guatemala. Assisted producers’ associations of small- and large-scale agriculture and agroindustry in developing GHG inventories and carbon footprint studies.

Coordinated a three-person team of technical advisors in registering, planning and monitoring protected areas; managed relevant databases; led the process of evaluation of effectiveness of protected area management; left to pursue a master´s degree.

Assisted in registering, planning and monitoring protected areas; evaluated the effectiveness of protected area management in over 30 protected areas; supported the development of digital tools for record-keeping and managing relevant databases; assisted stakeholders with technical proposals to establish new protected areas (including review of decree proposals); assisted protected area planning teams and participated in planning workshops providing insight and key recommendations from site- and network-level evaluations; served as liaison to the Association of Private Natural Reserves to support and expand conservation actions in private lands; coordinated personnel and activities in a community-led initiative to preserve a peri-urban forest; served as member of the Central American Organization Committee for the 4th Mesoamerican Congress of Protected Areas and coordinated an institutional delegation of over ten people to participate with oral and poster presentations.

Coordinated protected area planning, operating and monitoring related to personnel, trainings, equipment, vigilance, legal procedures, conflict management, research and visitor management; liaised and coordinated communications and activities with communities and other regional and national stakeholders; represented the park administration at public events, workshops and meetings; reviewed and edited an update of the park´s management plan.

Served as the research and monitoring program leader at Laguna Lachuá National Park; liaised with researchers, coordinated and supported research activities; assisted in developing a local seed testing laboratory to decentralize national seed certification; coordinated and assisted in monitoring a permanent plot network to assess forest management and conservation.

Assessed local seed sources of native tropical tree species to support the landscape restoration strategy of the INAB-IUCN “Laguna Lachuá National Park and its zone of influence development” Project; Coordinated and assisted in designing and monitoring a permanent plot network to assess the management of mixed species forest plantations and conservation of mature forests.

Provided academic support to course professors and taught lab sessions to freshman and sophomore year students of the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
