1. Acid Gas Recovery• Studied the Jamnagar Acid Gas Recovery process in detail with an Equation-Oriented Aspen flowsheet model. Gained tremendous insights on equation-oriented model development and finally suggested 21% improvement in high purity (>99.96 wt%) CO2 recovery with model-based study. Rigorously analyzed the effect of the improvement on refrigeration. The idea is accepted by the Technology team and detailed CAPEX estimation is completed for implementation. 2. PTA Reactor Modeling • Diligently studied p-Xylene oxidation process and developed the p-Xylene oxidation to Crude Terephthalic Acid integrated kinetic reactor model by incorporating the effects of catalysts, water, and oxygen. The model was validated rigorously with design HMB as well as plant data. The model can predict critical process parameters successfully.3. PEO Column design and optimization• Designed a new distillation column to recover pure EO and optimized the feed/product location to identify 7% saving in duties compared to the existing design with all product specifications matched successfully.4. MEG Column underperformance study• Conducted a model-based study to develop and validate MEG column with design and plant data. Used the model to quantify the inconsistency in column operation and provided critical actionable recommendations to plant.
