I am a development communications professional with expertise in strategic communications; designing and running small to large communication campaigns; enhancing branding and visibility and using multimedia tools and platforms to tell compelling stories that tell people about what you do and why. As a communications specialist in USAID's flagship governance program in Nepal - Public Finance Management - I use storytelling and visuals to explain the program's technical work of improving governance systems and approaches particularly at the provincial and municipal level. As the British Embassy Kathmandu's (previously DFID Nepal) Communications Officer, I implemented its communications strategy, increasing awareness of the UK's diplomacy, policy and development work in Nepal. I designed and ran medium to large scale communications campaigns on print, digital and social media. In 2022, my communications strategy helped enabled the UK's MP Alok Sharma use internal migration and receding glaciers in Nepal's mountains as the starting example in his COP26 opening day speech in Glasgow. At Louis Berger (2015-2016, now WSP), as Communications Manager for Nepal's first Challenge Fund-led access to finance program, I led work to reach rural poor people with awareness about new financial products and services. I did this in collaboration with Nepal's top banks and microfinance institutions. The products included content for radio, print and digital platforms and numerous high profile events with government, donor agencies and stakeholders. Before working as a communications expert, I co-founded VenturePlus, Nepal's first entrepreneurship magazine to build a platform for local startups. As a journalist with 10+ years of media experience, I have written extensively on Nepali culture and how it shapes our society and behavior.
