I began my career by pursuing an advanced degree in Human Factors at the University of Idaho, where I conducted research for the Idaho National Lab to improve the design of nuclear power plant control rooms. My research has contributed to understanding the human-computer interaction within the nuclear industry and has resulted in multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.After my time in academia, I worked a combined 5 years at Hewlett-Packard and the LDS Church conducting UX research. During this time, I prescribed research methodologies and conducted studies to meet project objectives. My UX research tool kit includes usability testing, heuristic evaluations, card sorting, tree testing, surveys, field studies, focus groups, and true intent studies. But even more valuable is my ability to extract and communicate meaningful insights.I joined Axis41 in 2015 as a UX designer, with the primary role of leading research efforts across the agency. My skillset allows me to bridge the gap between research and design by translating data into insights, often expressed through UX strategy documentation, persona development, journey mapping, and wireframing. I have supported many client projects, including: The American Red Cross, AAA, WP Engine, American Bureau of Shipping, ARC Best, Arrow SI, and Micro Focus.
