He was the life & soul of the party.My dad taught me the key to genuine and consistent business growth is impeccable customer service.Although I didn’t know it at the time, but as young as 5, I was going round repurposing things and selling them. From clam shells into ashtrays, a friend’s dad who replaced his wooden windows which I then sold to make a greenhouse. And then selling my friends and piers everything from sports equipment, sweets and even homework at boarding school.I was very lucky. I grew up in a department store. A treasure trove of everything you could imagine for sale. Beds, carpets, sports equipment, gifts and homewares, electrical, video rentals, luxury goods, & probably most fun was the toy department.I learnt customer service and retail. It is in my blood. Even when on holiday we were store planning for a new store opening or reviewing CV’s for the new management of that store.As our business grew, we specialised in children’s toys. I saw & experienced first-hand how technology was facilitating what the toy industry knew as KGOY (kids growing older younger).From here I started my career as a hunter / business growth specialist, specifically for technology businesses. Fast forward over the last 20 years through working with many household names such as IBM and SAP helping them bring new technologies to market, I realised I have a knack for understanding technology and conveying the latest technology in easy-to-understand pragmatic terms.Lets ConnectTom
