About Uzzal Kumar Roy

Currently working as a Project Director - Strengthening Maternal & Newborn Health System at Save the Children in Bangladesh to reduce the maternal & neonatal mortality and improve the MNH indicators of Rangpur Division. Prior to that played the role as a Senior Manager (Project Lead) of Strengthening Urban Public Health System project under the Health and Nutrition sector at Save the Children International in Bangladesh with a view to incorporating public health initiatives in 12 city corporations and district level health strategies since February 2021. Prior to that worked as General Manager (Development Programs) in SAJIDA Foundation for almost 3 years with program management and resource mobilization portfolio. Before that I was employed as National Consultant at WHO Health Emergency program & Surveillance & Immunization Medical Officer for World Health Organization (WHO). Earlier, I used to work with SAJIDA Foundation and BRAC for more than 4 years in Maternal, adolescent & Child health along with Community health programs as Program Coordinator & Technical Manager respectively. Having solid working experience of almost 11 years in the field of Public Health sector including 6 years’ experience at senior project management positions in different renowned national & international organizations with diverse job responsibilities with key competencies in project planning and designing, implementation, supportive supervision & budgeting, donor liaison and reporting along with contributing to national level policy development jointly with MoLGRD&C, MoH&FW & other Govt. stakeholders & development partners.
