Deputy Project Manager The project which will be performed through Build-Operate-Transfer model in Istanbul will be the largest airport of the world when all units are put into operation; the project is also the highest valve contract in the history Turkey. In scope of the 3rd Istanbul Airport situated on a 76 million m2 area in total; 6 independent runways, 4 aprons and 16 taxiways, 4 domestic and international flights terminal buildings on a total indoor area of 1,5 Million m2, 3 Technical Blocks and Air Traffic Control Towers each at a height of 85 m and 8 Apron Observation Towers, and all other facilities required for DHM‹ service building and airport (fire station, construction machinery and automobile garage, security building, regulator building, power house, heat power station, water tank, customs building) will be constructed. 950 million m3 excavation and fill works will be performed on the 52,210,000 m2 construction site under the project. Istanbul 3rd Airport Project will have a capacity of 165 passenger boarding bridges, 500 airplanes and also an annual capacity of 150 million passengers when its construction is completed; and its period of operation will be 25 years. Kolin Construction is both a member of the investor group and among prime contractors of the project. The approximate amount of investment for the work is 10.247 billion Euros.

Site EngineerThe project is totally 12,674 km long with secondary roads and branches. It starts at the northern part from Main Jet Base, following İzmir-Çanakkale State Road and İzmir-Aliağa railroad passes from western part of the Harmandalı and Ulukent settlements and crosses lots of creek, drying canal, watering canal, farming road and other roads that connecting near places each other from the Km : 10+000 and crosses railway from the Km: 9+555 and connected to İzmir-Menemen Çanakkale Road with Koyundere crossroad at the Km: 9+975.

Site EngineerAladereçam, Gökçebel and Yaşmaklı Dams exist within the scope of Akköy II Project. Generation of power will be realized at Akköy II Hydroelectric Power Plant. Aladereçam Dam is located at 1,843 m crest and 1,792 m talweg elevation on Karaovacık Brook. Water from Aladereçam Dam is diverted to Gökçebel Dam reservoir through a transmission tunnel having 4,077 m length and 3.20 m inner diameter. Furthermore, a hydroelectric power plant with an installed capacity of 7 MW, utilizing 210 m head of water to be diverted to Gökçebel Dam reservoir from Aladereçam Dam, has been constructed in addition to the power generation at Akköy II HEPP, Gökçebel Dam is a rockfill dam at a height of 144 m, with a concrete face. Gökçebel Dam Reservoir is estimated as 94.78 million m3 water holding capacity. This dam is linked to Yaşmaklı Dam reservoir via a tunnel at a length of 6,650 m and an inner diameter of 4 m. Yaşmaklı Dam is a concrete gravity dam at a crest elevation of 1,630 m and a thalweg elevation of 1,530 m and a height of 100 m. The dam has a water-holding capacity of 17.68 million m3. Water is channeled from here to a surge tank via a tunnel at a length of 4,002 m and a diameter of 3.20 m, and from there to Akköy II Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is the adjacent structure to Akköy I Hydroelectric Power Plant via a penstock at a length of 3,424 m and a diameter of 2.70 m. The penstock is a unique structure with a drop head of 1,224 m. The power plant shall operate with two Pelton type turbines, and be completed with two vertical axis synchronous generators. 872.5 million kWh energy shall be generated in Akköy II.
