I am an award-winning occupational therapist specializing in supporting people labelled with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the lifespan. I've been recognized by WFOT, AOTA, and Columbia University for international contributions and leadership within rehabilitation development and disaster response. I am also a PhD Candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences and Global Health at University of Toronto & research trainee at the CAMH Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre.My research interests include disability health equity, inclusive research methods, rights-based rehabilitation, and sustainable development of health systems in low- and middle-income countries.I also engage in a lot of volunteer work. Most notably, I am the founder and executive director of a nonprofit organization, Therapists for Armenia, & co-founder of the NIH Armenia Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Fellowship aimed at capacity-building of Armenian rehabilitation and disability services as well as post-conflict health system strengthening.I hope to expand my efforts globally and I look forward to connecting!
