Currently am responsible for all operations and for implementation of all hospital policies related to general administration.As part of the strategic team involved in the Healthcare interests of the Hiranandani Group, assist the CEO in achieving organisational goals, objectives, ensure statutuary compliance, device and implement strategic business plans consistent with the hospital’s expansion plan.I am a Certified Examiner for Quality Management for the IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality AwardI am currently a member of the CII Western Regional Subcommittee on Healthcare and a member of the board of studies of MBA (Pharm. Tech) at the School of Pharmacy and Technology Management of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies I was part of the team which led the initiative which resulted in the hospital winning the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award in 2008 and the Asia Pacific International Quality Award in 2009.I coordinate with the HRD to periodically review the HRD rules and regulations and with other departments to ensure execution of decisions and policies, interact with the Medical and Nursing Directors to help integrate the professional, nursing and administrative services.As part of the team responsible for future projects I put together a Project Team for each project selected by the Group. Currently we are expanding the hospital from 130 to 200 beds. My responsibilities include co-ordination of the internal activities of the Projects Team, create the service and facility mix, manning plan and deployment of staff; with the Architects for facility planning, monitor project progress and cost and indicate project overrun, interact & monitor the contractors and service providers activities, and any other project related activity as may arise from time to time.

I am the first person in my batch to be given Command of a unitAs Commanding Officer of the medical unit providing combat medical support to the elite First Armoured Division I was actively involved in formulating medical policy, planning, tactics and disaster management in area of responsibility.My team consisted of 16 Medical Officers with a service bracket ranging from 4 years to 19 years, and approximately 250 personnel below officers rank with trades like Nursing Assistant, Operating Room Assistants, Pharmacists, Health assistants and other support personnel like sanitary workers, cooks, etc.We are capable of tackling any medical or surgical emergency and can deploy our emergency quick reaction medical team within half an hour and build up on it as required. The whole unit is capable of being mobilized within six hours and can establish a 45 bedded hospital in tents.As Senior Medical Officer I was responsible for providing Comprehensive Medical Care to all ranks, their families and dependants of the formations under my medical care.We established a system of polyclinics in the close vicinity of our family quarters, which were manned round the clock and provided lab services and dental cover, and regular visits by physicians, paediatricians and gynaecologists. This was a very effective filter clinic for the Military Hospital and was appreciated by the clientele.

I am the first person in my batch to be posted as second in command.This field ambulance is located in high altitude area and provides medical cover to the local civilian population also.It has a fully functional 45-bedded hospital and has 10 doctors (including surgeon and anaesthetist) and 4 dentists posted to it. As the Commanding Officer was out most of the time due to administrative reasons, I have been often officiating as the Commanding Officer.

I was a Medical Officer functioning as Registrar and Administrative Officer. During the short time spent at this 200-bedded hospital, there were three changes of Command. As the second most senior person posted to the hospital, I spent almost half my tenure as the Officiating Commanding Officer.The hospital is located in difficult hilly terrain in a very remote area and provides emergency care to the local civilians in addition to Defense Service personnel. It has most basic hospital specialties and services.

I was a Medical Officer working as Project Officer and co-investigator of a DRDO Health Project entitled “Assessment of Occupational Health Risk Factors” at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS). As a co-investigator I was actively involved in all activities of this multi centric project having five centres involving over fifty different DRDO establishments all over the country. It had a budget of almost Rs 20 million and a completion time of four years. The project was completed and the project report submitted without time or cost over runs. As Project Officer I was in charge of - (a) Co-ordination of all project related activities.(b) Computerisation of the project including data entry and validation of a database of over 14000 subjects and statistical analysis of the data.(c) Budgeting and Material managementDisaster Management: (a) I have been a member of the DRDO North Zone Disaster Management Committee since inception(b) Actively involved in providing technical inputs (c) Have organised and led disaster relief teams to Andhra Pradesh (cyclone), Orissa (fire disaster at Baripada and Cyclone) and Chamoli (earthquake relief).Quality Assurance: Served in the Bureau of Indian Standards panel on Quality Assurance Standards with respect to Patient Care Services as expert from DRDO.Functioned as a member of the Materials Management Group in INMAS.

As OiC Cadre I was responsible for conducting the Intermediate Cadre Course for all eligible AMC Non Commissioned Officers of Central CommandAs Adjutant I was responsible for the executive implementation of all orders and of discipline in the unitAs officiating second in command (2iC), during the incumbent’s absence (there was no incumbent posted for a considerable period of time) I was responsible for unit training and accounts.

As Medical Officer in charge of an Advanced Dressing Station I was responsible for planning & provision of medical cover to a brigade in active counter insurgency operations in Nagaland and Jammu & Kashmir.
