I lead a team of Postgres engineers to deliver meaningful improvements to our Postgres offerings in use across the company. In this role I help and guide my team in their day to day work, I also set the directions and priorities for each of them, and remove any obstacles so that they can work effectively and efficiently, and drive toward achieving our goals in a timely manner. I led the design and implementation of the data tier for multiple Tier1 applications. I also led the design effort for Tier1 applications in Oracle . These are all custom solutions with exacting requirements that could not be satisfied with our standard offerings.In Oracle, we have a very useful feature for performance diagnostic which is AWR report. Unfortunately we don't have any equivalent available in Postgres. To close this gap, I conceived and implemented a number of innovations including AWR performance diagnostic reports for Postgres, similar in capability to our Oracle AWR reports. Architect and design the solutions to move Databases in AWS. I led the whole technical effort of Postgres DbaaS. I worked and lead to build and develop a tool which will provide automation and complete end to end DBaaS environment for Postgres (specifically open source Postgres)I designed and developed several shell and ansible scripts to automate database related functions which were previously manual or not available eg: - Automatic transition from Sync to Async replication to preserve availability in case of multiple standby failures;- HTTP service monitoring for proxy failure detection and self healing;- Ansible scripts for Postgres cluster health monitoringTest and implement various sharding and multi-aster solution
