Van has recently finished her Associate program in Merchandising/ Marketing and is currently enrolling in her Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In her previous education, she’s shown that she has the ability to analyze target segments, research markets, and the industry in order to provide the right product to the right customer at the right time. She implemented knowledge of the theory of design to improve the store’s merchandise presentation both online and offline. Van has also shown that she’s capable of creating compelling stories with appealing visuals across various platforms and mediums including, but not limited to, social media, sites, stores, and press. At the moment, She’s learning more about how to manage a business, how to measure risk, project business expenses, and so on. Through group projects, She experienced leading relevant team members, including delivering guidance and clear direction, problem-solving, and people management. She has also been gaining more knowledge about the circular economy and how to lower the damage that fashion has on the planet as well as its people. Besides class time, Van also wrote for her school magazine. She then became the Managing Editor and at the moment, the Fashion Editor. Through this activity, she gained more publication experience and improved her written communication skills. Being the Managing Editor and now - Fashion editor has allowed Van to explore both sides of the editorial world, strategically and creatively. Moreover, she got a chance to experience leadership and collaborate with other talented FIDM students. To Van, fashion is not only a reflection of life, a way to express one’s personality, but it’s also the second most polluting industry in the world. With her love for the environment as well as fashion, Van wishes to contribute to the industry and to society as a whole.
