In 2008, pivoted the company to its highest value exit opportunity, medical devices; created a product line-up to appeal to medical device companies and investors; won contracts at leading medical device & pharma companies and NIH; raised $22M from medical device VCs; created a Medical Device Division; hired an experienced president. Raised $45M in three rounds from prominent VCs and strategic partners. The company was acquired.

On-Chip was the inventor of the current industry practice for microprocessor testing and on-chip logic analyzer. The company's IP is currently licensed and used by most microprocessor companies worldwide. I was a co-inventor of this novel approach to minimize test time of a microprocessor by more than an order of magnitude and observe internal nodes at speed. Sold the patent portfolio (12 US patents) as part of a healthy exit package

Helped revive the fabless ASIC company out of an unsuccessful acquisition and put it back in business with a new management team and over 60 employees. Ultimately converted the business model of the company from design & manufacturing services to a design tool (EDA) company (“Silicon Design Systems”)

Responsible for setting up the U.S. presence and the worldwide marketing & sales operations of the Israeli ASIC start-up; built the U.S. organization from ground up in 1.5 years to a fully functioning entity with a design center and marketing & sales organizations; led the team in winning high-profile ASIC designs in Cisco, 3Com, IBM and Microsoft among others. The company was acquired and transformed into an xDSL product company.

As part of the exclusive representative of IBM Microelectronics in the Silicon Valley, led 10 technical salespeople in promoting the ASIC products of the company. Advised IBM marketing & sales organizations in their first-ever merchant-market foray. Personally responsible for penetrating several key major accounts dominated by entrenched competitors. Oversaw to completion ~20 complex ASIC designs. Managed the production logistics of these ASICs and wafer foundry

VC-funded Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) startup in the Silicon Valley, focused on the then-emerging HDL based design methodology. I was the original architect of the company’s FPGA approach. The company raised $22M capital during my tenure.
