Advised clients regarding several projects involving: electronic medical records management, a proprietary 3-D graphics application being used by consumer goods/entertainment companies and a beta version of an athlete strength/conditioning evaluation software that was being evaluated for an IPO. Frequent media expert on various business and corporate issues. Consultancy operates in concert with my APCO Worldwide work.

Upon invitation of the firm’s leadership, merged a sole practitioner advisory shop into the larger, global APCO to provide clients the benefit of brand and corporate experience accumulated while serving in senior roles at Nike and Levi Strauss & Co. Served as Senior Vice President, transitioned to Senior Counselor. Provide strategic business advisory, regulatory and marketing communications counsel to marquee global clients (exceeding USD $1 million) in the energy, food service and branded apparel sectors. Also developed the firm’s inaugural sports business offering, attracting various confidential clients. Performed multi-month global assignment in Abu Dhabi, UAE managing a seconded global team of 4-8 people on-site with client) Also joined firm's International Advisory Council, comprised of former CEOs and global diplomats headed by former New Mexico Governor and UN Ambassador Bill Richardson.

Announced on Feb 3, 2015. The Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of 10 members who each possess a strong passion for education and the visionary belief that every individual in Arizona and Florida should have the opportunity to pursue and complete a postsecondary education.The Foundation’s endowment is approaching $700 million and since 2004, the organization has invested over $155 million in strategic education initiatives in Arizona and Florida that have provided over 8,000 college scholarships, supported the college-going aspirations of more than 135,000 students and trained over 16,000 educators.

Was invited to join the Ashland Inc. Board of Directors as a result of my executive work at Nike Inc. reforming global sourcing/supply chains and mergers, acquisitions/divestitures. Selected as the Governance & Nominating Chair in January 2015; also serve on two additional committees: Audit; and, Personnel & Compensation.

• Served as senior in-house counselor, advisor and strategist to senior management and the respective global business units on various supply chain/product sourcing, litigation support, digital commerce, sports marketing and advertising issues. Also was selected for growth strategy roles related to acquisition/divestitures (e.g. Converse, Nike Bauer Hockey and Starter Brand for $43 million); provided marketing communications for those brands, athlete/endorsers and products. Also strategized with team on Wal-Mart value channel strategy.• Was among the core team of early architects of Nike’s renewed Corporate Responsibility (CR) approach to supply chain/labor standards improvement, environmental stewardship, philanthropic contributions and reputation management. Engaged in multi-stakeholder outreach and presentations with media, financial analysts, employees, NGOs, community groups, business partners and government.• Managed Nike’s relationship with external global consultant relationships. Also, at various times managed two full time professionals and coordinated larger “virtual teams” from diverse global regions based upon project and issue needs. • Team and individual efforts resulted in an improved corporate reputation for Nike as measured by brand consumer surveys and sales figures. Additional success metrics include preservation (and expansion) of our college sports marketing partnerships and key retailer accounts; increased investor/consumer confidence in Nike’s business practices. • Served on the launch team of nike.com, Nike’s on-line e-commerce business; Served on team to manage retailer communications and strategies - also served as a counselor to the business regarding NikeiD, the first-ever Internet based customization program for Nike footwear products. • Served as the senior strategist of issues and crisis communications for Nike on macro-business issues such the Olympics, World Cup, Sept. 11th/World Trade Center Response.

• Served as executive communications (speechwriting, research and analysis services) advisor for then-Levi’s Chairman and CEO Robert Haas and his late uncle, Peter Haas who served as Chairman of the Board of Directors Executive Committee. Also provided similar strategic services for various members of the Global Leadership Team – comprised of the top ten officers of the company. • Researched, wrote and participated in successful product launches for both Dockers and SLATES brands. Was also a counselor to LS&CO’s corporate responsibility and reputation initiatives/programs, various corporate communications initiatives; media relations and special philanthropic initiatives.

Drove several strategic planning processes and co-managed various account teams for a variety of the firm’s marquee client relationships including the PGA TOUR, Major League Soccer, Major League Baseball, COURT TV, USA TODAY and a host of other confidential corporate and governmental entities. Regular participant in many of firm's new business client presentations involving significant national initiatives and large budgets.• Headed one of several teams of policy advisors and media trainers to assist the newly elected African National Congress (ANC) in their transition to power in South Africa under newly elected President Nelson Mandela.
