Market Penetration - Media Buys - Product MarketingMedia Buys Oct 2015 - Nov 2016Summary:- researching and interpreting trends- market research based on trends discovered- facebook advertising- paid search advertising- analytics (specifically interpreting tracking platform results to optimize campaigns)- a/b testing and scaling accordingly- constantly adding new potential audiences and sources to test- media buys & retargeting- dealing direct with manufacturers- dealing direct with logistic companies- selling directly to end user with own copy- landing page development and copy (for A/B testing)- using ad spy software to identify what competition is doingFull descriptionI was able to pinpoint a decent number of "possible" trends that would stand to grow or would have the ability to be profitable if marketed correctly. I identified a growing popularity with a number of products. I then created and tested funnels. I then made deals with manufacturers and imported goods to the USA using various logistic companies to handle distribution and storage. The funnels would basically offer something for free but people would have to pay for shipping, once the shipping was paid, I would push more offers with 1 click up-sells, these would range from lower end and lower priced to the actual products that I intended to sell in the first place where the profit margins were the best. This would be marketed heavily on Facebook as that's the place where most trends are dictated and would last a short while as they were "viral trends".Often times I was able to more easily identify demographics from other sources such as influencers. Some Industries I have tested in are: beauty, weight loss, diabetes, muscle, survival, student debt relief, car insurance, travel, SaaS and more. Not all were trend based, some offers were highly competitive. As interesting and dynamic as these projects seem to be, the stress, lack of longevity and constant instability made me move to something more reliable and stable.

Owner2 New Self-Help Websites Oct 2015 - Feb 2016Again, I started 2 self-help sites, in the same manner I did with the first two but this time around I didn't do all of the work myself. I outsourced the design work, and hired a full time writer to produce the content. I created similar 2+ year email sequences (over 100 emails per list at 500+ words each) but these were entirely written by my employee. Although the content was getting published the industry and consumption of information in general has changed and it did not receive the traction my previous project did. Sold all of the content for profit and moved on.

Untapped Direct Media BuysMedia Buys Nov 2013 - Mar 2015Summary:- working direct with site owners negotiating the best deals for their media space- testing and working out what works best for that particular audience/space- analytics (specifically interpreting tracking platform results to optimize campaigns)- a/b testing and scaling accordingly- constantly adding new potential audiences and sources into testing- media buys- dealing direct with manufacturers- dealing direct with CPA networks or other networks that had offers worth testing/selling- selling directly to end user with own copy- landing page development and copy (for A/B testing)- using ad spy software to identify what competition is doing in order to improve campaigns- managing and coordinating a team of 3 people to constantly optimize campaigns and improve ROI as well as relationships with media space owners- coordinating an entire network of 45 media space owners with different audiences and different ads/offers being advertised on their spaceFull description:I created this business because there were a LOT of high traffic websites (US/UK/AU/NZ/CA) that were owned and maintained by people that were living in foreign countries that did not have the opportunity, or ability to work directly with major ad networks. The business exploded within a month. At it's peak I had 3 more people helping me and a network of around 45 publishers with whom I was working directly.I was selling absolutely anything that would fit a particular audience. I decided and then tested the way in which these offers were presented, from the way the ads looked, the landing pages, the product landing pages. Everything was tested and then improved constantly in order to earn more. The industries that worked best were obviously health & weight loss related, muscle, beauty, car insurance with occasional spikes in current trends. One of the most challenging parts of this whole process was dealing with all of the publishers directly.

Owner2 Self-Help Websites Apr 2012 - Jul 2014United KingdomSummary:- producing content- researching and working out partnerships with potential content publishers- distributing the content across a wide range of publishers once deals have been made- creating email autoresponder series of 100+, 500+ word emails that span across 2+ years on both sites, many of whom were pitching something at the end- wordpress site and blog management- reaching 10,000 for male and 250,000 subscribers for female site- digital product creation and marketing across multiple channelsFull description:This was my first successful business. I initially started a self-help site for men but I quickly realized there was a growing need for female advice as well - I sold both business in the middle of 2014 due to lack of time to maintain them and other much more profitable ventures. At their peak, the male site had around 10,000 subscribers and the female one had over 250,000.The business was pure content marketing. I was writing (under a different name) and distributing the content across a huge range of publishers that I contacted and arranged deals with personally (FHM, Cosmopolitan etc). All of the readers on those platforms eventually came to my websites via a call to action link that was mandatory at the end of each article. The entire sites were focused on getting people to subscribe which would then be served high quality content emails that often had sales pitches at the end. That was the ONLY way the websites were monetized. Because there was a huge degree of trust between me and my readers, the conversion rates were extremely high especially for women with an average of 1 in 35 buying something and opening rates for women with an average of 60% even after 2 years.I wrote 4 small eBooks to be given away for free on the site and Facebook pages, as well as one 150+ page full book for men that I sold via the mailing list and various other digital marketing channels.

Business Development ExecutiveVoltimum Nov 2011 - Mar 2012London, United KingdomVoltimum, among other things, had a digital screen network placed throughout a large number of Electrical Specialist Stores. I was hired to help develop that particular network, more specifically to bring new advertisers on the platform. The job primarily involved cold calls, making offers, ways of targeting potential advertisers to buy ad space on the platform. I also created a new website for the service (content, design and code) as well as performed market research with on site questionnaires and other such efforts. -
Director Of MarketingBaybuk Dec 2010 - Sep 2011United KingdomBaybuk was a startup created by one student from the University of Kent (not my university). I was invited to join as they received funding and wanted to grow.Baybuk was a free online booking system and directory that dealt mostly with small to medium size businesses. I was responsible with the marketing side of the business which included strategies, planning, market research but mostly focused on adding new businesses to the platform.I also attended a lot of trade shows, fairs, networking events to bring more people to the platform.

OwnerDim Solutions Sep 2009 - Dec 2010United KingdomDim Solutions was an online advertising company that dealt only with small local businesses and small business owners (plumbers, accountants, local lawyers etc). I started the company in my second year of University. I had one other person helping me and managed to get two clients after over 600 cold calls before giving it up due to lack of experience, poor choice of market, the way in which I was viewed (too young) and other opportunities.

Content Marketing And PpcSelf-Employed Jun 2007 - Aug 2008RomaniaFueled by a desire to earn money in order to afford to study abroad, I got invested in content marketing and PPC (mostly google adwords). I was promoting various affiliate offers. Started with article marketing because it was free, as soon as I could afford a domain and hosting I started doing it on my own sites and as more money came in, got involved into Google Adwords. Managed to spend about 20,000 USD on AdWords until my account got banned for running various affiliate offers that were not ok with their ToS. Those were the Wild West days of Adwords and as I was young, I saw that as the end. Everything I learned at the time, marketing , content writing, online advertising was self taught as I was still in High-School.
