This position is best explained as the blending of human resources, union rep, guidance counselor, and assistant principal. My responsibilities include maintaining good order and discipline within the unit, advising the commander, developing Airmen, and advocating for my people. In this position I have been able to integrate well into a variety of different organizations and broaden my scope of responcibility into fields outside of aircraft maintenance. -
Aircraft Metal Technology NcoicUs Air Force Reserve Jun 2009 - Dec 2019Las Vegas, Nevada AreaAssigned to the 555th Red Horse Squadron as I was the unit machinist. Here instead of aircraft, I use my skills as a machinist and welder to repair Construction equipment and deployable assets. As Red Horse I went TDY to Langley AFB and helped construct “Raptor Town”. I also provided a manning assist to the 820th Red Horse Squadron. While there I alleviated a 15 month backlog in the vehicle maintenance section. I also supported the 554 Red Horse Squadron in Guam, repairing many pieces of damaged equipment. I deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2013 and again in 2018 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve to the 557th Expeditionary Red Horse Squadron. My experience here culminated in being the interim Vehicle Maintenance Non Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC) and Aircraft Metals Technology NCOIC.

Vtl OperatorFlowserve May 2008 - Apr 2009Albuquerque, New Mexico AreaWhen I first entered this machine shop, I was amazed. I had never seen such a large capacity fabrication facility. My duties here were to operate a retrofitted 108” Bullard Vertical Lathe, with a Fanuc controller. I machined duplex stainless steel and inconel parts weighing several tons. I would regularly have to use micrometers and calipers larger than 3 feet. Here I became proficient with overhead hoists and forklifts to facilitate simple things like setting up and breaking down parts on my machine. It was an awesome experience. -

I also supported all the back shops including: Phase, ISO, Engine shop, fuels, AGE, Armament, and whatever other agencies requiring machine shop and welding support.
