I am an educator with solid teaching experience in four countries so far, including, South Korea, Brazil, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai). I specialize in teaching a variety of disciplines including bilingual education, IB, IGCSE, and Physical Education.

United Arab Emirates

Joined a team of curriculum authors, to produce the new ASP English Curriculum across grades 6-9, including scope and sequence creation, authoring, editorial and design. Additionally, my role as Curriculum Author include, being able to produce curriculum materials that meet international benchmarks. We also work with Cambridge University Press to ensure international quality standards and benchmarks are adhered to in the development of the curriculum

United Arab Emirates

Experience included teaching across all required subjects to Middle School and High School level students and facilitating strong classroom management skills to insure the primary instructor’s tasks were implemented. Experience further included carrying out duties as a field trip chaperone throughout the United Arab Emirates, as well as developing their English communication skills and individual interpretation.

As the Lead English Teacher, my principal duties and responsibilities encompassed me carrying out many roles including; preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities, marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils’ progress and development. Additionally, my role as Lead Teacher included; understanding and supporting national standards of English as set by the Ministry and ensuring these are followed by using effective target setting systems for all students within English, identifying effective intervention and mentoring strategies for students within English, being an outstanding practitioner and to support by undertaking a teaching commitment depending on the needs of the Dubai Boy’s Secondary School and modelling and supporting a learner-centered, language rich classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.

Bahrain

As an IB (International Baccalaureate) and IGCSE experienced teacher, my duties included developing curriculum that catered to a differentiated approach in each lesson, developed student’s skills of oral and written expression, created engaging and interactive lessons, as well asassessments, geared towards broadening their international perspectives through an innovativeand differentiated approach. Experience further included facilitation of CAS workshops, aimed at promoting community service, talent shows, and an additional after school program providingone on one instruction with academically weaker Middle school students.

Brasília, Federal District, Brazil

Experience included teaching English as a second language to Third and Fifth Grade Students. Key components of the curriculum included Oral Language Development, Reading and Writing Skills and English Conversation. Administered numerous art appreciation projects, Science projects (that included the study of Paleontology) and literature projects aimed at analyzing and critiquing various pieces of work. Additional experience included facilitating various events for Middle and High School such as musical presentations, talent shows by students presented to faculty and staff and race unity workshops.

South Korea

Experience included teaching English as a second language to students in grades Kindergarten to Middle School. Responsible for the development of communication skills in English and the ability to understand spoken English in various contexts while focusing on increasing accuracy in various situations. Students developed reading skills to understand, interpret and appreciate a variety of literary and informational texts. In writing, students practiced for a variety of purposes, demonstrating appropriate knowledge of the conventions of written English. Additional experience included facilitating frequent arts festivals, Korean cultural events and after school tutoring programs.
