My academic background includes completing both my B.A.S and M.Arch degrees at UKZN, where I represented South Africa and won the Dubai-based international stage of the MultiComfort Student Housing competition. My architectural career began in 2006, where I worked for renowned Durban-based firms PGA and EPA. During my time at these firms, I was exposed to a wide range of projects and gained invaluable experience in various aspects of architecture. In 2020, I started my own small practice called ANARKI, allowing me to take on a more hands-on approach to projects and explore my design style. In addition to my professional work, I have also been involved in the education sector, having lectured both Architecture and Interior Design at DUT and Vega School. Through teaching, I have been able to share my passion for design and mentor future architects and designers.In 2022 I began working at DHK as a Senior Architect, where my role has primarily focused on luxury hospitality projects in the Middle East since joining the firm. Specifically, I work as the project lead managing a small team and coordinating my projects with the larger consultant team remotely. My day-to-day functions involve overseeing the design and delivery of projects, ensuring that they meet both the client's requirements and the firm's high standards of quality. In addition to my project management responsibilities, I also provide mentorship and guidance to my team, helping them develop their technical and design skills. I am also involved in developing the company, through collaborating and providing input on the firm’s Sustainability and BIM forums.My areas of career expertise and particular interests lie in various aspects of sustainable, equitable design and cutting-edge technology. Sustainability has been a driving force throughout my career, and I am passionate about creating architecture that is environmentally responsible and socially conscious. I am interested in generative design, visual programming and exploring the potential of AI and machine learning in design, and how these technologies can help us create more efficient and effective buildings. Overall, my areas of expertise and interest are centered around creating sustainable, socially conscious, and technologically advanced architecture that pushes the boundaries of traditional design.
