In this role, I am developing urgently required novel Phase II and comprehensive drug metabolism prediction, models. Additionally, we're using theoretical and experimental methods to test the limits of Marcus and related ET theories for the prediction of enzymatic redox reactions. I have developed a novel Drug Toxicity Index (DTI) published in Toxicology Research 2019, 8, 157-171. DOI: 10.1039/C8TX00261DI routinely guide M.Pharm. students for their project work and am also a single point contact for the Practice School in BITS Pilani for Pharmacy students. Earlier I have published on the development of novel Y-shaped PPARg agonists for antidiabetic drug development. In short, I have a wide range of expertise in modeling, synthesis, and drug toxicity prediction.

This is a summer visit to the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology at The University of Manchester funded by EMBO short-term fellowship.The project is about understanding and exploring factors affecting CYP450 isoform specificity and selectivity in drug metabolism and toxicity.Please write to me if you are interested in the details of the project. Here I initiated the work on drug toxicity modeling and development of Phase II drug metabolism prediction. I have also guided 3 MPharm students for thesis work related to DMPK studies for explaining the toxicity or lack of toxicity in selected drug compounds.

Hi, My Ph. D. thesis was on the study of drug action and metabolism of PPAR gamma activators. To understand drug action I had employed computational and synthetic chemistry technologies like molecular dynamics simulations, quantum chemical (QM and QM/MM) calculations. Hydroxyl protection and deprotection strategies, developed during my M. S. (Pharm.), were utilized for the synthesis of PPAR gamma activators.These studies have given access to novel compounds, two of which have shown promising results in in vitro PPAR gamma binding studies. These are being further developed for better anti-diabetic profiles.Thank you.
