Vaishali began her career in law, practising as a solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills. She advised clients in connection with a wide range of contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters, including regulatory and internal investigations, compliance, financial services licensing, financial product disclosure and civil penalty proceedings. In 2016, Vaishali leveraged her legal skills and experience to pursue a career in policy with the Australian Public Service. She has since worked as an adviser in the Economic and Regulatory Reform Divisions of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Associate Director at the Infrastructure and Project Financing Agency and the Commonwealth Treasury. After moving to the United Kingdom in 2017, Vaishali joined the City of London Corporation - the governing body for London's historic centre and its financial district - as a fintech and cyber policy advisor. In this role, she engaged extensively with industry leaders and government advisers to enhance opportunity and innovation in London's world leading financial services sector. Vaishali is currently working as a Director at the Commonwealth TreasuryVaishali graduated with a combined Bachelor of Laws (Hons Class I) and Bachelor of Economics from The University of Sydney. She received a Master of Science in Public Policy at New York University's Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service in 2019.
