I manage relationship with Financial Sponsors, be it Sovereign, Pension, Buyout, Growth and Venture Funds. Working closely with Global and Indian Financial Sponsors, we support them with all their banking requirements. I prefer to dip-dive into the Fund’s investment strategy to understand the Investment Manager’s strategy and role. I work across their portfolio companies to see if there is any problem statement which the Fund Manager is facing at Fund or Portfolio company or even at personal level and can I provide a Banking solution which will help them improve their IRR.I have always been very passionate about building honest and sincere relationships, be it with family members, friends, my past and current office colleagues, my counterparts as an Investment Manager and now in my current role with Financial Sponsors. My career graph has been growing very dynamically. Being a Chartered Accountant I always worked on Accounting, Auditing, SOPs, Treasury side and built relationships with the stakeholders supporting me on these functions, but never thought to take up a pure relationship role in my career. In FY 2016 when our private equity fund moved from ICICI Investment Management Co. Ltd. to ICICI Ventures, I decided to stay back in the Bank.During the same time ICICI Bank which has been amongst the early visionary to understand the changing ownership and an important role that the Financial Sponsors would play in India across sectors, decided to set-up a focused Financial Sponsors Relationship team in the Bank. Because of my earlier experience i.e., coming from Fund and Investment Management background my organisation ICICI Bank gave me this opportunity to be a part of this five member team which is now a 75 member team. My varied experience in the past has helped me built a strong relationship with the Indian and Global Financial Sponsors. This role has been extremely enriching with a new structure and new challenge every day on my desk and this keeps my enthusiasm level at its pick to arrive at and offer a value-added solution to the client.I am very much a people-oriented person and in addition to building great relationships I am also very passionate about building a strong family foundation, in addition I love to support my husband in his passion i.e., spreading Education.
