Utilizing the framework of high school debate teams and debate-centered instruction, SVUDL helps students uncover and hone the power of their voices, so they can confidently step into their full potential as professional and community leaders.

The Cities Association of Santa Clara County is an association of the 15 cities of the county. Since 1990, representatives from the 15 cities of Santa Clara County have been meeting monthly and collaborating on issues that affect each of us, striving to create a unified voice. (Note- I started as Acting Executive Director in July 2022, then became Interim Executive Director in October 2022, and became the permanent Executive Director as of February 2023). As Executive Director, I work with the Board of Directors and all Board committees to realize the vision, mission and goals of the CASCC.

LAMV-CF provides local grants, incubates emerging nonprofits, offers donor-advised funds and philanthropic advising, and partners with community organizations and residents on solutions that make a sustained difference in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View.

The Board of Trustees has been elected by the community to provide leadership and citizen oversight of the school district. The Board ensures that the school district is responsive to the values, beliefs, and priorities of the community. I work with my fellow Board Members to create an environment that is conducive to maintaining and supporting LASD’s mission, vision, core values and LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) goals. I also actively promote and advocate for the Los Altos School District with all stakeholders, from both within and outside the LASD community. I am a former the President of the Board (Jan 2021-Dec 2021).

Keep Los Altos Schools Strong (KLASS) is a Primarily Formed Committee dedicated to campaigning for bonds and parcel taxes in support of the Los Altos School District’s (LASD) in General Elections. Along with a diverse committee, I have worked on all aspects of campaign management and have successfully passed a $150 million bond measure in the November 2014 General Election and a $2.8 million parcel tax in the November 2016 General Election.

APISBMA is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting API students and community.

The Juvenile Justice Commission of Santa Clara County is a state-mandated, court-appointed authority. The Commission is dedicated to the promotion of an effective juvenile justice system operated in an environment of credibility, dignity, fairness, and respect for the youth of Santa Clara County. I co-chair the Equity and Justice Committee (addressing disproportionate representation of certain populations in the juvenile justice system), am former chair of the Education Committee (whose work often overlaps with the Equity and Justice Committee), am a member of the Continuum of Care Committee (looking at foster youth) and I have served on the Gender Responsive Task Force (addressing the number of girls and female-identifying individuals in the juvenile justice system). I also attend other task force and workgroup meetings to gain more breadth and depth in my knowledge of the experience of youth and their families once they touch the juvenile justice system.

Manzanita Works supports the welfare of workers and their families by exploring local solutions to regional challenges. As Health Program Lead, I focus on the health program area, which includes challenges around COVID-19 testing and vaccine access, mental health support, and any other issue that local communities identify as an area of concern. I use a social justice lens to approach my work.

CHAC provides mental health counseling and prevention services that build happy, healthy children, youth, and families. As a board member, and more specifically as chair of the Development Committee, I worked to ensure the sustainability of CHAC's programs. This included creating community outreach activities to raise awareness of CHAC and its programs, identifying new donors and stewarding existing donors at CHAC.

I started my own company which provides extensive program development, professional communications, grant-writing and manuscript editing services. El Camino Health is a healthcare system serving Santa Clara County. As a Community Relations Specialist, I was responsible for creating, managing, and facilitating relationships between El Camino Health and nonprofit and community-based organizations in Santa Clara County.

CAFE, a project of the Los Altos Community Foundation, is advancing our understanding of Age-Friendly cities and communities (a global World Health Organization project). CAFE intends to drive transformational change in creating healthy, active, sustainable, and engaged intergenerational communities. My responsibilities include developing community partnerships, and all aspects of program research, development, implementation, and design of monitoring and evaluation activities. I have also created and implemented workshops to teach older adults how to download and use ride share apps on their phones with the intention of creating greater independence and empowerment in this target population.

ACME is an independently funded, national non-profit and non-partisan media literacy organization which was founded by a broad-based coalition of educators, students, public health and community activists from diverse backgrounds. I provided the Public Health perspective to discussions and goal setting around the impact of media on health-related decision-making among children and adults.

Community Relations was Adobe's corporate philanthropic giving department. Working on this team allowed me to be on the grantor side of the giving equation, and provided me opportunities to mentor grantees, vet potential grantees, and develop programs that were aligned with Adobe's philanthropic goals.

I worked on projects including Window Falls Prevention and Child Carseat Safety. Education activities, developing relationships within the community and grantwriting were integral parts of the success of this program.

I facilitated community-based pediatrics assignments for pediatrics residents.

Turning Point is a Robert Wood Johnson-founded public health initiative. Grantees, such as the Louisiana Turning Point Partnership, were charged with creating a statewide public health improvement plan that brought together diverse organizations and individuals around the common goal of strengthening the state's public health system.
