Over 15 years experience within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, having acquired significant expertise in drug development with particular focus in clinical oncology. I have experience leading and delivering a number of successful and unique external collaborations/alliances for pharmaceutical companies with key cancer organisations including Cancer Research UK (CRUK), the National Cancer Research Network (NCRN) and other organisations outside the UK. In addition I have lead external clinical programmes for oncology compounds with a particular focus on basket/multi-drug trials. Commensurate with this external orientation, I am highly interactive and collaborative with a strong customer and delivery focus.Externally, I have also held (or presently hold) a number of positions of responsibility, including scientific society chair and committee positions, industry/expert body representation and editorial responsibilities for scientific journals. I have also driven or been actively involved in a large number of external clinical/scientific partnerships, collaborations and consortia. I have a scientific reputation backed by peer-reviewed publications, and invited presentations at scientific meetings, conferences and University courses. I have also supervised a number of PhD studentships. Prior to my career in industry, I obtained a PhD in oncology studying the function of hormone receptors in breast cancer, and I hold a first class honours degree (BSc) in Biochemistry from the University of London.
