I have worked and volunteered for over two decades in the statutory and voluntary sector, most notably in Sheffield Libraries and Information Services providing front line advice and information services, managing services and projects as a Principal Officer at Rotherham Council and at Rotherham Age Concern. I am committed to the concept of accessibility of information for all people, particularly excluded groups experiencing disadvantage due to disability, financial hardship or social exclusion. In my current role as Information Officer at Disability Sheffield I particularly enjoy working with and supporting volunteers .I have direct experience of being a volunteer myself at my local CAB, at a local nature reserve and as a trustee for two local charities supporting disabled people.
