-Develop collaborative working relationships with assigned agents providing excellent customer service-Accept, modify or reject risk based on a review of the business, in terms of loss experience, inspection reports, file information, web resources, policyholder tenure, related policies, and nature of risk in accordance with Company guidelines, standards and compliance with state laws.-Inform management of weakness in coverage and/or products that are adversely impacting growth potential-Attend marketing events that may be organized by the Company. Examples of such events may include but are not limited to Sporting Events, Trade Shows, Conventions, Roundtable and/or Broker meetings-Perform Quality Control on Policies before they are released to the agents-Effectively communicate decisions and resolve agent/customer concerns promptly-Serve as Senior Underwriter to other underwriters in the department and Serve as a referral underwriter for other team members -Document and maintain training materials to assist in on the job training-Review risk to be sure they were in compliance with State and Federal regulations by reviewing EPA guidelines and Environmental Engineering reports. -Work with carriers to identify and review current trends from the underwriting aspect. -Review the potential insureds financial statements to assist in the underwriting process-Communicate effectively via phone calls and email to gather and analyze necessary information critical to the Underwriting process-Participate in Underwriting presentation webinars with the marketing team-Resolve billing and commission issues. -Create a monthly status report for my manager and for the Carrier.-Gather pertinent competitive information to assist in developing recommendations for product development -Business Lead, working with the Architect and Developers, on design and provided UAT testing for defining requirements in creating our own web based system
