ROTARY:Valdi Stefanson has been an active Rotarian for over fifteen years. His passion is International Service and he has developed a string of Matching Grant projects in Guyana, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador. These projects involve areas of water supply, agricultural development, medical hardware and assistance to public education. Valdi serves on the District 5960 District Grants committee where he mentors other Rotarian clubs with their projects serving the Western Hemisphere. .A highlight of this work was a two-page article in the October 2004 "the Rotarian" magazine titled, “Foundation-funded projects aid rain forest villages”..A second instance of this work is seen on a You Tube video regarding Rotary International service in rural Bolivia. ($ 17,500) Assemble & ship 3 containers of goods to Guyana (medical & hospital supplies, school supplies, gym equipment and computers) Trip to Guyana for hand-off to schools and hospitals. 2. Trip to Guyana with ultrasound machine $ 3,000. Investigate further needs at local public schools. 3. ($ 48,135) Supply 15 new photocopiers to local schools in Guyana4. ($ 143,175) Construct a large agricultural water reservoir in Bolivia to serve 600 families. Trip to Bolivia for project dedication. 5. ($ 48,135) Conduct 5 Farmer Fields Schools, install 20 micro-irrigation systems and 2 tree nurseries in highland Ecuador (an outgrowth of District 5960 GSE team visit)6. Scouting trip to Bolivia to investigate further agricultural water reservoir sites. 7. ($ 35,000) Development of project to supply 30 new computers to secondary schools in Guyana.Stefanson also assists annual Club # 10 activities including delivery of dictionaries for 3rd grade St. Paul Public School students, work on the Cleveland Circle flower beds near the Xcel Center in St. Paul and delivery of roses to nonprofit organizations each fall.

President of the Antique Snowmobile Club of America -- 2600 members strong that are dedicated to the preservation and presentation of snowmobiles from the golden era of 100+ manufacturers.Valdi Stefanson enjoys the sport and recreation of snowmobiling. As a means to give back, he has served as President of three different area snowmobile clubs. He collects, restores and displays many vintage and antique snowmobiles. This passion spills over into executive positions in classic snowmobile nonprofits and events. Stefanson has authored several articles in national snowmobile publications.

In March, 2011 Valdi received Rotary International's highest honor. The President of Rotary International awarded Valdi with it's SERVICE ABOVE SELF Award. Only 150 Rotarians (out of 1.2 million) were selected to receive the 2011 award. Valdi is active with International service projects that serve people in need --- providing clean water, hospital supplies and school equipment in Guyana, Bolivia and Nicaragua.Rotary is a service organization of business professionals that promise high ethical conduct and volunteer service in community, region and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto ‘Service Above Self”.

This nonprofit provided energy and water efficiency programs and advocacy to citizens of St. Paul and Ramsey County, Minnesota. Credited with efficient and impactful program design and delivery for homeowners, apartment buildings and commercial/industrial clients, the nonprofit served to guide residents of the East Metro through many of the "energy crisis" years. Valdi Stefanson, Executive Director, was twice awarded the Governor's ENERGY SAVER Award.
