Experienced internationally in sales and business development, establishing new operations either inside existing organisations, or starting up completely new companies in emerging growth industries such as high-tech high-value industrial and consumer products, semiconductors, telecom, cleantech, EVs, software/web, etc. Experienced also in fund raising, financial and market analysis, finding key people, and turning ideas into concrete, profitable and exciting realities with strong fast sales and leading market share.Upon my return to Adelaide, I am in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors, currently as the Business Development Manager for consultancy firm Resonant Solutions. This comes after having been with one of Australia's most experienced commercial solar PV and storage design houses, The Solar Project before. The Solar Project has now finished merging with multinational energy company, Enel. Also, active in advocacy for the industry as the South Australian Convenor of some solar and renewable energy advocacy groups, such as Solar Citizens and 100% Renewables for SA.Also, founded and co-chairing the advocacy group All-Electric FIA Formula E Car Racing for Adelaide to accelerate South Australia's transition to electric transport - with Adelaide becoming the annual Australian host city for this new FIA global racing series, and having a week-long "Festival of eMotion" for business and the general public to learn about all things new and emerging in e-transport, from e-scooters to e-planes and everything in between.Additionally, increasingly involved in the broader business community in various organisations and projects, such as setting up "Adelaide Abroad" and the "Boomerang Club" with the Committee for Adelaide. The aim is to attract more South Australian entrepreneurial expatriates (like I was) back home to Adelaide - bringing with them their wealth of experience, contacts and international thinking to boost the economy here. The team has been working collaboratively with the Adelaide City Council, South Australian Government and other government agencies and business groups to create a coordinated front. Finally, I am also leading the North Adelaide Precinct Association and Friends and Residents of North Adelaide (FARONA) representing North Adelaide business and residents respectively in dealings with council, state government, developers. etc.

FounderAdelaide Abroad Jul 2016 - PresentAdelaide, AustraliaAdelaide Abroad - tapping our world wide web of people“Adelaide Abroad” aims to enhance South Australia by reaching out to our state's expats across the world, plus those tempted to come to South Australia for the first time. Many lament the young going abroad, but in fact they become some of the best Adelaideans – being able to boost the state while abroad – and then returning – often in the prime of their life – to advance the state with their worldly experience and contacts. There are many famous ‘boomerangs’ back in Adelaide already, but we can do much much better by being organised with the rest. This wide web of folks abroad – an estimated 110,000 from SA alone and a million Australians overall – have soaked up the latest innovations overseas and built up a rich international network of connections and expertise.Alas, speaking from personal experience, expats hear little about Adelaide, with the bigger cities often hogging the attention, and many are unaware of the new “Radelaide”.Our expats can be engaged and work with SA from where they are overseas – advising, representing SA, etc. Many can be easily tempted back home earlier - to the world’s 10th most liveable city - either on a short-term basis or permanently.Statistics show 75% of expat Aussies return home eventually, especially when family needs become dominant. To which city they return is up in the air though. Many have had more than their share of big city international experience and looking next for quality - a life absent of traffic jams, pollution and other downsides of megacities that have become too big. With today’s business and culture so interconnected and worldwide, where one physically is based matters less and less for the best, once they have gained their experience and contacts. How one lives though always is very local. This is how Adelaide can attract back the best seeking the best!
