Looking to diversify and give the travel agency industry a new and creative spin, I co-founded Happybox. What was first an add-on to the travel agency, soon became our main focus for growth. Managing our downtown store while also selling the experience boxes online and in five different shopping malls in Bucharest and Cluj was rewarding and complex. Finding new ways for an almost complete automatization system and looking for technology to allow operations to take place without human input was a continuous process. Starting a new business from the ground up proved to be a challenging and rewarding experience. After a few years of growth we started to feel the pressures of the financial crises, lowered corporate clients' budgets and growing costs. As an agency manager, I organized the consultants team, making sure we achieve the weekly and monthly goals:- Promoting and selling new travel products and tour packages while offering specialist, professional and competitive solutions to meet the demands of a niche travel market.- Developing relationships with corporate customers while creating tailor-made packages regarding incentive travel, hospitality gifts and regular business trips. - Overseeing the recruitment, selection, training and retention of staff as well as payroll matters.- Liaising with travel partners, including airlines and hotels, both national and international.Travel Studio was a niche travel agency that gathered in one place the passion for sports, music and travel. Many people who traveled in a variety of places around the world have tried to go to a football or basketball game, to a tennis tournament or to a show or concert in the cities where they were. Travel Studio worked to get tickets to a variety of events and locations at attractive prices. To complete the packages, we offered flight tickets, accommodation bookings, transfers, classic tours and excursions for both individuals and groups.
