Machine Tools have been a Passion of mine since 1968 when I first programmed a Cincinnati Cinamatic and a Numeriturn II Lodge & Shipley in my Sophmore year of High School. Since then I have enjoyed some great career opportunities with some outstanding companies and machine tool lines ~ WCI Machine Tools & Systems (Bullard, American Tool & White Sundstrand), Mazak, SNK, Kitamura, Okuma, Phillips Federal/Military/GSA Division (HAAS, OMAX, ONA EDM, Grobe, Hexagon Metrology, 3-D Systems - SLS & SLA Systems for Additive Manufacturing). I have learned more programming languages starting with: SPLIT, Word, Action, Compact II, APT, Adapt and Autospot to CAD/CAM and Conversational Controls. I worked on DNC, SPC, Five Axis, Metrology, FMS systems, paperless manufacturing and full Turn-Key installations to large blanket orders with Major Companies. I have traveled extensively around the world and have been able to set up National Sales & Distribution Networks for major machine tool Builders and Importers. My experience is invalueable and I really love the Machine Tool Industry. President & General ManagerNeway Cnc - Usa May 2013 - Apr 2015The Chairman Of The Board for Neway recruited me to fill the top position for Neway CNC-USA. Relocated my family from Grapevine, Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth area) to Houston within four (4) weeks of accepting the position to build a start-up ~ Chinese machine tool builder/importer from scratch. Handled everything from sweeping the floors, hanging pictures on the wall to reporting to the Board of Directors ~ Sales Management, HR, parts, service, applications, WEB site, building/tech center, marketing, shows, advertising, quotes, literature, price and stock lists, distributor contracts, Terms & Conditions ~ to ordering machines and forecasting for the USA market. Added 26 new full servicing distributors and organized a full blown Open House within six (6) months that was a great success with 225 customers and 16 distributors attending. Set up and organized Neway’s first IMTS and HOUSTEX Machine Tool Shows. Sales results were over budget, from Zero to over 100 sets in the first 6 months. Set up Neway to be very successful and to grow in the future.

Increased distributor network from 5 distributors to 25 and also increased sales from 50 machines a year to over 600 machines a year.

Sales Manager ~ Dallas/Fort Worth, Tx.Mazak Corporation May 1989 - Jul 1993Florence, Ky, UsMazak's management and I worked together at WCI - they contacted me to move to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to re-establish Mazak in the North Texas market. I was fortunate to be working with some of the best Service Engineers and an Applications Engineer to support our sales. We introduced an "ACT" CRM and added computers to the office to organize our Data Base and support our "telemarketing" plan. We built our Data Base to 1800 prospects in the 60 counties we covered and by Telemarketing around 100 prospects per person/per week - we turned our data base over on a monthly basis. The results were Great - we won the Mazak Million Dollar Cup, exceeded all our sales goals, established a high percent of new Mazak customers and built a very strong team from our Office Manager to our Service Engineers. -
Vice President & National Sales ManagerRwt - Dnc Systems Aug 1986 - May 1989RWT was an early leader in the DNC, Data Collection and Paperless Manufacturing markets. From simple "download/upload" of part programs to setting up full blown Cell and Systems Controllers tied into SPC, Metrology with Data Collection and Analysis. We cross the threshold of "voice-controlled" machine tools - but were way ahead of the market. I set up a huge system for FMC Corporation - using three Compaq 386 desk top computers on an IBM Token Ring Network - one interfaced with their local VAX using Kermit and another utilizing an SNA Gateway to pull their part programs from their Compact II programming system in Dallas, TX. - we enhanced the system by converting the drawings to a Textronix 4010 or 4014 format so they could be downloaded to a simple VT220 terminal right by the machine - so the operator could download his "job folder" with the part program, fixture and part drawings and any special tooling or set up instructions. Lot's of FUN! But way ahead of their time.
