I lead the ankle design group, responsible for designing a new mechanically powered ankle exoskeleton that will interface with a full body exo that can be converted between a hard and soft exo. I coordinate a group of 5 members to agree on final design decisions, consolidate CAD, get feedback from other teams, and present our designs and justifications in formal design reviews to students, professors, and industry professionals. We are completing final designs in January 2024 and will manufacture and test for the rest of the semester to prepare for the ACE competition in May.

At STARX (Strength Augmenting Robotic Exoskeletons), we design and manufacture stress reducing exoskeletons intended to improve performance and endurance of first responders in emergency situations. After investigating joint movement and exo industry standards, I suggested improvement to a shoe cage prototype for a new exoskeleton design to maximize adjustability while maintaining structural integrity. I also redesigned a more ergonomic calf brace for an existing exo to improve user comfort and ease of don/doff.

I lead the modular wrist group on the electrical subteam, responsible for designing an electrical system for a new arm that will allow our teenage client to switch hand components on the arm for different activities. This requires frequent consults with the mechanical team to best integrate the system with changing physical designs while accommodating safety and ergonomic considerations.

At MNP, we work with pediatric clients with upper limb differences to create customized low cost 3D printed prosthetic arms. I have researched new sensing methods to improve the reliability of an existing arm design that better meets client needs while minimizing cost and frequent maintenance. I have also troubleshooted and assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs) for existing arm models to streamline overall arm assembly for further testing and donation.

Working as part-time math, science, and robotics tutor, creating lesson plans and guiding students above and below grade level on achieving their academic goals and offering enrichment opportunities based students' STEM interests

Taught 30+ middle school students as robotics instructor at career exploration camp, introducing basic robotics concepts and facilitating activities from curriculum. I also incorporated my own experiences, real world applications of robotics, and activity adaptations to keep students engaged while accommodating for different learning levels and school's technical difficulties.

Worked in robotics classes for ages 6-14, teaching the basics of programming, design, building, and game strategy necessary for robotics through STEM labs and robotics challenges of my design. I also incorporated my perspective as a competitive and experienced robotics student into classes with the aim of preparing students to join a competitive robotics team.
