As Senior Program Advisor of Private Post-Secondary Institutions, I assume Province wide responsibility for the regulation of the post-secondary private sector training both at the college and university levels. Ongoing supervision and auditing of these institutions, from both operational and financial standpoints, is therefore essential. I assume a high degree of accountability and full responsibility for ensuring that private sector training institutions conduct their businesses in a manner that is consistent with legislation and that they deal with students and their financial commitments responsibly. I assume responsibility for regulating 45 private colleges institutions direct the process of institutional and program evaluations for private degree-granting institutions designated in the Province. I assume responsibility for the management of surety bonds and the investment of a $6M Training Completions Fund. I lead all legislative and policy changes as it relates to private institutions both at the college and university level. I develop policies and processes that establish greater accountability for private institutions. This involves jurisdictional research and analysis to weigh the impacts on private institutions and the benefits to students. Resolution of issues requires strategic thinking and high level of problem solving skills. There is potential for training organizations (private business) owners and hundreds of students to be affected by decisions reached and action taken by the Senior Program Advisor. Post-Secondary Relations Lead for Future NB/Future Wabanaki in relation to Experiential Learning for public post-secondary institutions as well as K-12. To engage and support youth in furthering their education, as well as exposing university students to experiential learning to join the workforce and remain in the Province. Future NB/Future Wabanaki facilitates indigenous student participation as well as visible minorities, international students and students with disabilities or other under-represented groups.
