My name is Valerie Bond, and I am pursuing a finance and international business degree in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. I am proud to receive this education as it will allow me to become well versed in the business industry. As the youngest in my family, I have had the opportunity to look up to my family members and see their enthusiasm in their line of work. Not only has it shaped my interests to pursue a degree in business, but it has allowed me to explore different industries and develop meaningful connections. Being able to sustain a younger energy has enabled me to venture into wider possibilities, strengthen relationships, and develop a liking for leadership. I often find myself taking initiative in situations where a leader is needed, for instance, I helped lead my team to success by overcoming obstacles, giving helpful feedback, and motivating my peers in Business Presentations. My eager attitude to succeed pushes me to be more enthusiastic and encourage others to do the same. I believe this energy will aid me in future projects to achieve results that go above and beyond expectations. Seeing the variety of opportunities possible has furthered my organization and diligence in my academics, work, and volunteer experiences. My eagerness to learn and grow as a student will continue me on this path as I will explore the greater depths of finance in my next two years at Indiana University.
