Hi, I'm River and I am an experienced Content Moderator with a history of working in the internet safety and hospitality industries. Though, I am looking to continue down the path of the internet, tech, art, marketing, business, and/or customer service industry. Over all I am skilled in customer experience, critical thinking, organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and thrive in a fast paced environment. I consider myself to be a hard working and self-disciplined professional with a drive to be an asset to my workplace. In recent previous positions, I was a top performer, ran and designed company newsletters, took on extra projects, helped with marketing ideas and strategies, created content, put my photography and art skills to use, and occasionally acted as shift lead when asked of me. I strive to bring a great attitude along with great work ethics to the company I work for. Currently, I am looking for a company where I can apply the knowledge and skills that I have already built, but somewhere that will allow me to continue to grow and learn.Though I am currently based in Columbia, Missouri, I am absolutely willing to relocate for the appropriate position.

Content Moderation Specialist

United States

With IntelliPro, I used a content management system as a moderation specialist along with my excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. I worked quickly and efficiently to recognize, identify, and properly address each case as necessary. Whether it be deletion, shadow banning, or featuring good content. It was also important to educate and keep myself up to date on any changes within the platform's TOS, policies, agreements, and platform features. As well as ensuring that the material being moderated is consistent with Terms of Service & Regulations, in order to keep the community and users safe from sensitive, offensive, potentially hurtful content, or platform manipulation. Here, I also learned how to handle and escalate severe cases such as child exploitation, abuse, etc. to the FBI if necessary. While working remotely and using my great self-discipline, my duties were to reduce risk and ensure the highest levels of user safety and platform protection, along with handling various side projects. There were lots of moments I worked independently, but also worked with a team of other moderators to ensure things were moving at an efficient pace and that projects were being completed. In my time with IntelliPro, I was also able to use my multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills to also work on and create various spreadsheets, flowcharts, data entry, and help others when they had questions, while also managing the queue and moderating at the same time.

Using CMS as a moderator along with my excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, I worked quickly and efficiently to recognize, identify, address, and properly flag violations at a fast pace. I was a top performer within my first week and was placed to act as a shift lead when the normal shift leads were unavailable on various occasions.Continuing to educate and keep myself up to date on any changes within the platform's TOS, policies, agreements, and platform features. As well as ensuring that the material being moderated is consistent with Terms of Service & Regulations, in order to keep the community and users safe from sensitive, offensive, or potentially hurtful content. Working as a team player with a group of moderators and independently to reduce risk and ensure the highest levels of user safety. Keeping the community moderated, safe, and free of sensitive or compromising material made this role very fulfilling for me. At Vaco, I also had the opportunity to be the head of a culture committee where we planned monthly luncheons, meetings, and came up with ideas on how to build our team community, and discussed things we'd like to see happen within the company. I also had the responsibility and wonderful opportunity to use my editing, writing, and design skills to create and run the monthly newsletter for our very large team. The newsletter included important announcements, new team members, birthdays, a monthly interview, and more. Often times these meetings were not during my scheduled hours, but I enjoy working hard and being involved and invested in the companies I work for.
