Serving as a parent and a volunteer is like a bike ride. I balance, pedal, and fall while meeting the physical needs of an infant, providing boundaries for a toddler, and empowering minds of a teenager. I find a consistent speed on the path and enjoy the ride. I hit a bump and the bike has a flat tire. My husband or bystanders help to repair the tire which demonstrates my willingness to ask for assistance. A path may start out as a smooth ride then a pothole appears. I adjust and overcome obstacles. If the weather changes, I gather information and decide if it is wiser to continue or to return. When I approach a dead end, I look beyond for a dirt road. Each bump, pothole or dead end is opportunity for growth. It is how I continually pursue growth that sets me apart. EMI purchased the company and I expanded my role at EMI CMG. Managed employees who coordinated with ten labels' production, marketing and creative departments.
