Physician-scientist with clinical and research interest in breast cancer. Focused on identifying novel combination therapies for breast cancer and the mechanisms that lead to drug resistance. In the clinic, I cared for the very patients whose cancer I investigated in the laboratory, exemplifying the bench-to-bedside-to-bench model.

Clinical oncology fellow and research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Carlos Arteaga. My research focused on elucidating mechanisms of and overcoming resistance to targeted therapies in breast cancer. Specifically, my research proposal addresses the mechanisms by which 3-phosphoinositide dependent protein kinase 1 (PDK1) mediates resistance to cell cycle related CDK4/6 inhibition in ER+ breast cancer and explores the in vivo effects of inhibiting PDK1 in combination with CDK4/6 inhibitors toward ER+ breast cancer growth. Clinically, I care for the very patients whose cancer I study in the laboratory.
