Current role: Accounting manager/controller/office manager at Bridgeport Insurance Brokers, celebrating our 45th year. Reporting to the President. Daily, I handle all accounting functions at the agency: AR, AP, Billing, GL, Month end close, Payroll, ACH/EFT/Wire payments, credit cards, daily banking, bank account reconciliation, Producer commission reports. Also, the more complex functions: GL maintenance, Excel spreadsheets, month end preparation and close, financing reporting to our parent company, insurance carrier payable reconciliation, commission statement verification and preparation, vendor payables, agency management system maintenance, aged receivable review, return premium verification and issue, relations with premium finance providers, oversee the maintenance and operation of agency computer systems, office machines, phone system, negotiation and review of contracts, ensure all licenses maintained and renewed, light HR, assist CSRs and sales with projects, troubleshoot computer program errors/training needs with all users, set and implement budget goals, bank account reconciliation. My position is unsupervised subject to quarterly audits by our partner. My work is accurate and pace is fast. I enjoy what I do.
