About Valerie Robitaille

I’m an entrepreneur and marine scientist working with a team of brilliant innovators to transform how seafood is farmed and sourced to help feed the world. My early passion for oceans and technology led me to a Bachelor of Science at the Maine Maritime Institute and a Master of Science at the National Institute of Scientific Research. My partner Cody and I made a scientific breakthrough and developed applications for using optics and photonics in commercial marine environments. After several companies expressed interest in our work, XpertSea was born to address major technology gaps in aquaculture.XpertSea was launched with a singular mission: to use technology to make aquaculture more profitable and sustainable. Over the past decade our AI-powered innovations have helped shrimp farmers in more than 50 countries access better data, make better decisions, and achieve better financial outcomes. Our data-driven solutions are the first step in creating a more transparent and profitable supply chain for the global shrimp market. As the world’s population climbs toward ten billion people by mid-century, demand for sustainable protein will soar. To satisfy that need, aquaculture -- already the world’s fastest growing food sector -- must transform into a modern, efficient and sustainable food source for our planet. Through research, development and innovation, we’re turning that vision into reality.
