Valerie Wolf Gang (alias Valerija Zabret), is a renowned intermedia artist, director, videographer, and transdisciplinary art researcher. She is known for her deep exploration of the interplay between humans and technology. Her work has gained international recognition, with her participation in research organizations and exhibitions at esteemed venues around the globe, showcasing her dedication to advancing her field.Her commitment to artistic excellence is evident through her numerous prestigious scholarships and awards, such as the Ivana Kobilca Award for current production, the national Vesna Award for best film and Fulbright Award. Wolf Gang is also deeply invested in public engagement, conducting participatory style workshops. These workshops are designed to educate people about emerging technologies, address technophobia, discuss the concept of technological singularity, and advocate for the ethical use of technology.Currently, she is pursuing her doctorate at the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts and is a highly regarded lecturer on contemporary artistic practices and film. Her previous roles include serving as an expert associate at the Institute of Fine Arts in Vienna and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. There, she contributed to departments such as Interactive Machine Learning, Intelligent User Interfaces, and Multimodal Interaction. These experiences have fueled her research in XR and AI, focusing on identity, space, and contemporary societies. Additionally, Wolf Gang mentors at the Centre for Creativity of the Republic of Slovenia, collaborates with the Network of Art and Cultural Research Centers (RUK) research center, and serves as a jury member in various international film and new media festivals.In 2023, Wolf Gang embraced a new chapter in her career by joining the Ministry of Defence Republic of Slovenia as a Senior Military Specialist, Class XI. This role marks a significant milestone, showcasing her enduring dedication to exploring new media, technology, and strategic communications. Prior to this, Wolf Gang was based in Los Angeles, California, where she made substantial contributions to the field of XR technologies at Chapman University, focusing on their impacts on society. Having now returned to Slovenia, she remains committed to fostering global connections, bridging the worlds of science and art, and continuing her journey of innovation and discovery.
