Hi there, I am Valerie – a curious Jill-of-all-trades who thrives on exploring new opportunities and making a meaningful impact!My career journey has been a rich tapestry, weaving through healthcare, philanthropy, and social services. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a unique perspective and a versatile skill set for tackling complex problems and driving social change.In healthcare, I gained a deep understanding of patient needs and systemic challenges. My work in philanthropy sharpened my ability to strategise and mobilise resources for impactful initiatives, while social services reinforced my commitment to community support and systemic problem-solving.Currently, I am part of an organisation that integrates its operations with the public sector. This role allows me to navigate the intersection of social and public interests, particularly as I contribute to enabling a $2.3 billion Community Silver Trust aimed at improving the ILTC sector. I find fulfillment in bridging the gap of ensuring that my Service Providers’ community initiatives are well represented; focusing on securing funding so their vision can turn into fruition. This role gives me purpose as it enables tangible impact through my contributions.I also leverage my professional knowledge in my volunteer work, applying strategic long-term planning (i.e., funds resourcing through grants or private foundations) to enhance initiatives. Passionate about animal welfare and addressing inequality, I volunteer with a grounds-up group, assisting newly minted mothers facing financial and parenting challenges.
