For me, as someone who grew up in a cult environment, there were strict rules around who I - particularly as a woman - should be. When I set up my own business, my gremlins came out to play. Fear of what other people might think of me got to me and it sucked.Undoing those subconscious beliefs and building confidence in the core of my being was a journey that led me to a TEDx stage to share my story. No it’s not been easy - but the freedom I’ve found to be more of myself has been worth it. My experience included developing campaign concepts, copywriting for deliverables such as newsletters and websites and managing public relations accounts.Most memorable moments included donning a wedding dress from a local Oxfam for a client (just to get the perfect pic for some local coverage), creating a Christmas tree out of tools for a repairs and maintenance company (it took over our Boardroom) and catapulting my colleagues into space by organising our company away day.
