Valerie is a Senior Editor at Big Sky Edit, a state-of-the-art film-editing shop in NYC, where she has been cutting commercials for over 25 years. She has worked with renowned agencies such as Y&R, McCann, Publicis, McGarry Bowen, GS&P, Arnold,​ Walrus and AFG&. As a creative partner with Ogilvy, Valerie edited the AICE “Best of NY” nominated American Express ad “Members Projects,” which explored the brand’s history using footage from 50 years of archives. She won at the 2011 AICE Awards for the Bryan Buckley-directed short “No Autographs,” which led to more documentary-style projects including Elizabeth Arden’s “Her Story” web content, Verizon’s “Potential Of Us” campaign, and GLAAD’s “Southern Stories Series.”Her feature film work includes "Eavesdrop," “The Independent,” supervising sound editor on the Jerry Seinfeld documentary "Comedian,” and additional editing on the Sydney Pollack American Masters TV Series "Sketches of Frank Gehry," among many other post-production credits. Featured at the 2018 Architecture & Design Film Festival for Frank Gehry: Building Justice directed by Ultan Guilfoye. Co-presented by New York Magazine, this long-form film follows Frank Gehry and his studios at SCI-Arc and the Yale School of Architecture. Together with his students, he investigated prison design and visited one of the world’s most progressive detention centers in Norway.Throughout her career, Valerie has been dedicated to teaching the craft and is currently a NYS certified occupational teacher, instructing public high school students in TV Production and Post Production. She is also a key player in the AICP’s annual Camp Kuleshov competition for assistant editors and an active volunteer for many non-profits, mentoring up-and-coming talent in post-production with the tools and mindset needed for success in today’s industry.Valerie’s creativity is fueled by the spontaneity and support of her family. With a husband, two sons, and two dogs, there is never a dull moment. She is also a huge supporter of animal rescue and the North Shore Animal League.
