Passionate about fostering literacy among Bulgarian children, I bring a unique blend of academic background in Political Science and Diplomacy, coupled with over a decade of dedicated involvement in promoting reading.Since 2008, my mission has been to ensure every child in Bulgaria has the opportunity to unlock their full potential in the best possible environment. Recognizing that functional literacy is integral to achieving this goal, I've actively worked towards enhancing individuals' ability to read between the lines, comprehend information, and make informed decisions.In 2012, I co-founded Detskiknigi.com, a platform committed to fostering a love for reading. Subsequently, in 2013, I established the Children's Books Foundation to further champion the cause of literacy. Over the years, I've spearheaded various campaigns and initiatives, incorporating the latest scientific advancements in reading and literacy.In my capacity as the main coordinator of the National Prize "Beads of Magic" (2013-), I've overseen the development of the "Biserche Vlashebno" reading clubs network, boasting 160 clubs and nearly 7000 child participants. I prioritize the needs of children in all Foundation programs, ensuring their relevance and support for Bulgarian youth.In 2023, I took a significant step forward in my commitment to promoting literacy by founding the Reading Foundation (Bulgaria). Together with my dedicated colleagues, we orchestrated the inaugural Day of Reading in Bulgaria, an event that resonated with nearly 180,000 participants. Building on the success of the first Day of Reading in Bulgaria, the momentum culminated in the establishment of the National Reading Pact. This strategic framework serves as a blueprint for the systematic development of a robust reading infrastructure. The overarching goal is to ensure that reading is not just a pastime but is universally recognized as a fundamental human right.Honored as the "Ambassador of Libraries" by the Bulgarian Library and Information Association and recognized as a "Knight of the Book" by the Bulgarian Book Association, I've also received the Darik Radio project "40 to 40" award.Currently pursuing a PhD in Reading Theory at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, I actively engage in various initiatives and discussions as a speaker on topics such as reading, literacy, and the future of education and libraries.
