Since 2004, I have worked in high profiled venues and high profile music festivals. I have also worked at UCL’s Student union bar.In my current role, health and safety is at the forefront of everything I do.I hold an Sia Door Supervisor license which covers licensing laws.I have had extensive day to day experience of complaint handling and resolution. I have also taken part in conflict management and de-escalation courses.At some events, I have experienced start time changes which has given me experience in prioritising tasks and working to deadlines.As a senior member of staff at my previous role, I am often coaching and training junior members of the team in best practices.In the fast and dynamic environment that I work in, conflict often arise. But through empathy and assertiveness, I can often resolve most conflicts.At festivals, I have to manage staff welfare breaks in accordance to the flow rate at my entrance.I started in the security industry before there was a national governing body. From the introduction of the Sia, I have gained a Door Supervisor license, NVQ Level 3 Spectator Safety for supervisory as well as several industry recognised qualifications.Through working in a male dominated industry, I value democracy and feel all voices should be heard even if they contradict my own views.If customers do not feel valued, I feel my role will be null and void as they will not come back to the venue, so customer service is at the forefront.I work in an ever changing environment and ever changing conditions. And I strive to adapt to these changes.I have gained valuable experience in working in high profile fast paced venues nationwide. I have in-depth knowledge and experience gained from working at the union.I have an SIA Door Supervisors Licence, I have an Advanced Media qualification which will be beneficial in marketing activities.In other roles, I have trained and developed staff. I have supervised at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the Rugby Union World Cup. I am a licensed Door Supervisor and I am willing to gain further qualifications to benefit the role.
