Emphasis on the importantance of three-dimension vision in vision drawing... as well some offbeat side jobs (appeared in a Lesbian reality show, and a catfood commercial, in my role as figure drawing instructor).

In Barnet's Community Link, an educational program for adults making a fresh start after personal disasters. Backgounds ranged from liberated sex slaves to depressed university graduates, ages ranged from 19 to over 70; my job was to keep everyone engaged and interested, in each other's work as well as in classroom discussions.

From 1980 to 2001, did hundreds of illustrations -- primarily for the Sunday Magazine, Book Reviews, and Viewpoints (op-ed) pages.

Hundreds of portraits and caricatures for the daily paper starting in 1983, and political cartoons in every issue of the Classroom Edition between 1988 and 2000. A caricature of Frank Zappa for the daily's Leisure & Arts Page was judged the best American newspaper illustration of the year in the Society for News Design's annual exhibit.

Ilustrations included half-page sized art on the covers of Sunday Business and Week-in-Review sections. I drew so many fish for outdoor sports columnists that friends started introducing me as the New York Times Troutist.

During the tenure of chief art director Robert Aulicino, I contributed a dozen bookjacket illustrations. One for The Rise & Fall of the Great Powers was displayed and discussed on the PBS national newshour during a recent 20th anniversary interview with author Paul Kennedy.
