Consulted with EPs, Supervising Producers, Field Producers, and Writers to expand Bloomberg’s capabilities into true crime writing & producing for long-form mysteries.

Collaborated closely with the Executive Producer and Showrunner to research, outline, and write a 3-part true crime premium limited series for Discovery+ and Investigation Discovery. The highly-rated series Murdaugh Murders: Deadly Dynasty investigates and reveals heretofore concealed allegations of fraud, corruption, a double murder, and conspiracies surrounding the suspicious deaths of three additional victims.
Red Marble Media has charged me with the supervision of scripting and editing for various RMM productions. I help nurture and maintain a positive work environment with a collaborative spirit.
Operated closely with Executive Producers to develop & launch season 1 of First Blood, a true crime series about serial killers. Devised an imaginative storytelling technique not yet used to convey such dark stories. Produced remotely and planned location shoots all under strict COVID-19 protocols. Given the many executives and notes involved in launching a new series, I was charged with preserving balance and continuity, adhering to budget, and nurturing the EPs’ creative vision.
Applying my true crime TV expertise, I’ve been consulting with FOX Television Development, as well as Executive Producing pilots, sizzle reels, and pitch decks for yet-to-be-announced crime and “crime-adjacent” TV programs for streaming services, cable, syndication, and network television. Involves extensive writing and research into the crime TV genre to ensure that our series, limited series, and/or documentaries in development are fresh, matchless & pioneering. I utilize my extensive contacts in law enforcement, forensic psychology, criminology, crime scene analysis, etc. to cast the best experts possible for programs in development.
My role is to guide home the first season of this true crime series. Preceding my arrival, the original showrunner and his team did all the heavy lifting I'm used to doing. They found and cleared the stories for production, shot the interviews and wrote the initial scripts for post. As I take over, the episodes are in great shape. So, my job is to keep that same trajectory through recre production, post and delivery to the network.
Translate concept into workable production model, obtain top producers/writers, establish schedule for production and show-run season 1 of this new, true crime, reenactment-driven series Stranger Among Us, set to premiere on the Investigation Discovery channel in early 2020. Involved in every phase of story research & selection, detailed outlining of episodes & scripting, through field production and recre production, as well as supervision of post-production.• Creating the POV for the series with input from network and production company executives in an effort to stand out in the crowded true crime world.• Handling the simultaneous production of all six episodes at various stages of production.• Maintaining and nurturing a positive work environment with a collaborative spirit via effective hiring and supervision of staff.
Augment efforts to refine and update series for its second season. Develop and pitch stories of various murder cases to network executives for approval prior to production. Create full-blown outlines, field produce interviews & b-roll, and write final scripts, all in conjunction with production company and network executive notes and approvals along the way. Manage the simultaneous production of several episodes at various stages of production. Cultivate a positive work environment with a collaborative spirit via staff meetings, regular updates and feedback, team problem-solving, etc. Communicate clearly with staff about task parameters, expectations and deadlines while also taking a helpful, solution-oriented approach to obstacles, concerns and setbacks.
Worked collaboratively with production company execs and network execs to launch season 1 of this compelling true crime series. As showrunner, I plotted out the production schedule, refined the budget, hired and supervised production and writing staff, determined which stories to pursue and wrote pitches for review by executives, participated extensively in writing scripts for each episode, prepped director and his production staff prior to recre, supervised recre production as well as post-production.
As showrunner, I collaborated with executives from the network and production company to design and launch season 1 of this talent-driven, 1st-person true crime series. Under my purview was the production schedule, the budget, and the production and writing staff for this 6X60 series. With our show host, I determined which stories to pursue and pitched them to executives at GEG & ID, and participated extensively in writing scripts for each episode.
Helped recruit and cast key exclusive interviewees for this 2-hour special. Developed story line and storytelling style to be executed. Created initial production schedule and recommend key staff hires to write, produce and direct the special. Served as liaison between key interviewees (Detective Andrew Caldwell and Judge Jackie Glass) and A&E, as well as ITV//Outpost Entertainment. Conducted initial exclusive interviews in Las Vegas to be used in the sizzle reel.
Co-created, developed, executive produced and served as showrunner for seasons 1 thru 6 of the popular, true crime, reenactment-driven series Deadly Sins which first premiered on the Investigation Discovery network in March 2012. Utilized extensive law enforcement and journalism relationships nationally to secure access to some of the most salacious and diabolical murder cases in recent U.S. history. Hired and supervised the entire staff while immersed in hands-on writing, directing and production of series. Worked closely and harmoniously with network and production company executives to set and modify the “look-feel” for the entire series.

Built the LA-based west coast bureau from scratch, and increased production output from the west coast team by 600% during my first two years. Both supervised and performed hands-on production of crime stories using news footage, home video, surveillance tape, stills, and evidence from police & victims. Wrote, produced, and/or directed hundreds of segments. Managed multiple segment budgets ranging from a few thousand dollars to as much as $520,000. Realized substantial savings to production budgets by streamlining methods and drove improvements to writing, storytelling, and editing.
