The Gulag Foundation is researching some of the most obvious forms of persecution during the former communist regimes of Soviet extraction, and distilling the echoes of these experiences in education, communication and memorial projects. EPAS is an on-premises SaaS solution for enterprise wide, automatic and regular password quality assessment and enforcement for a wide range of systems. EPAS addresses the overwhelming issue of maintaining secure passwords in large, heterogeneous environments containing Microsoft A/D, IBM System z, SAP and more. EPAS uses a self-developed, patent pending technology designed for enterprises, to extract all relevant password data from a target system, and uses these to assess the resilience of passwords against attacks. EPAS employs only legitimate cipher text extraction methods and therefore creates no system stability risk for the target. EPAS is a solution developed by Detack GmbH and its Swiss partner Praetors AG.

I am privileged to work with several technologies at the forefront of personal media, with projects that will define global trends in the industry. Our work involves not only customized creation of sports and recreational videos, but also Smart City "plugins" for the tourism industry, Augmented Reality, Quantified Self and Internet of Things setups.I am responsible of Business Development for the iRewind HQ in Switzerland, as well as Research & Development for our software development team in Romania.Current projects are focused on winter sports, mini-football and cycling, but we're researching new products for a wide area of interest, from tourism to medical research for Alzheimer, from drones operating videocameras to state of the art seamless wi-fi scenarios for personal content delivery.

Since we're a start-up, R&D could mean more or less anything needed in house, from (New) Business Development or Marketing Strategy to actual trips on various sport fields - marathon, cycling, ski or tennis - to build a network that serves our commitment: to provide an effective video to mobile platform where afficionados can save their favorite footage featuring... themselves and their own sport experiences.As I have a history of of over two decades in content development - some 15 years of which were lavishingly spent in various online streaming video environments - I'll to be able to move these sport-proven infrastructure recipes into the public space, be it infotainment or public safety. Romanian TV news station recently launched by RCS-RDS, a major telco & cable company of the Eastern and Central European market.I worked here on a 6 months contract as senior consultant with the audit on the quality of the editorial service.

Cybersecurity, disaster communications, marine security, counterterrorism, defense research, reputation management & all that jazzAlthough short-lived, this project still offered me the privilege to spend several years doing research in the security of communications. While our goal was to build nonconventional emergency response teams for governments or corporations facing any form of cybersecurity crisis, we never really kicked off the lab into the market, for lack of "elementary" networking in the military and political world. Still, we scored several nice touchdowns, so its a nice game to remember, overall.

Designed as a think-tank whose task was to explore communication both technically and, uhm, philosophically, Vexilla was a nice small group of people talking about apparently weird issues, such as retrocomputing or ham radio data networks as a back-up to Internet-based or mobile telephony, and some borderline considerations on the actual "meaning load" (semantic, cultural or even spiritual) of the bytes in evaluating the "efficiency" of the communications.Some of the financially benign applications of this research frenzy were several communication seminars, while the more time consuming ones and the lack of funding proved too much of a burden to keep things rolling. Still, the great ideas shaped in those years are lurking in some bytes in the archives, waiting for the right "click".

For seven years H18 created and managed for Sprite the on-line strategies, activations and campaigns. From the interactive experience to the strong community of Spunepebune.ro users, sprite.ro reached an unprecedented exposure to its audience.
Ringier and the National Television Station employed H18 to design their e-presence in 2006 and 2007. For tvr.ro H18 created the visual concept and layout design according to the brand ID values. Later on, the website has been nominated in the on-line user-voting contest targeting the Eurovision consumer community all over Europe.
H18 developed an online game and coordinated the web activation of Fanta Mango, in 2006, and Fanta Pink in 2007, as well as cokefood.ro, the support website for the Coca-Cola maintrust campaign. The Company also created virtual forums to support the two components behind the Coca-Cola brand, music and football.
H18 created the very first Romanian virtual plant for Dacia Renault in 2005. The whole visit integrated the Logan's advertising concept being created as an interactive game which gave the user a comprehensive picture over the whole fabrication process. Dacia Renault decided to launch the project in a professional environment, at SIAB 2005. H18 created the website of the event with an outstanding 3D motion graphic presentation of the corporate booth where Logan Diesel was launched. The Coca-Cola Company appointed H18 to create the clubbers' community and go on-line with the burn energy drink. With a permanent correspondent in Ibiza and exclusive stories from legendary DJs, between 2002 and 2005 burn.ro was one of the hottest on-line destination for clubbers. In 2003 the H18 created and produced an integrated TV campaign, aired on the Romanian MTV channel.In 2004 British American Tobacco chosed Hambar 18 to develop an on-line concept and strategy for KENT e-presence as a core communication tool that would enhance the consumer dialogue.

Hambar 18 explored the idea of popularity across several industries, such as IT, tourism and advertising. Thus, during industry fairs, such as CERF, IFABO, RITS and the advertising festival AD'OR Hambar 18 organized polling sites that transformed into prizes the votes of the Internet users. Among the public figures who kindly endorsed these campaigns was the President of Romania who sent the Hambar 18 CERF e-prizes via email from his very office.The Hungarian National Authority for Press Audit was the first East-European audit body to deploy, in 2000, a solution to evaluate the ups and downs of the electronic medias in the country. Hambar 18 contributed to this event with assistance in the technical setup of the web audit infrastructure and created the website of the Hungarian company, www.matesz.hu.Hambar 18 created several pioneering websites that covered and webcasted major judo competitions, such as the 2000 Europe Cup of Cadets and the 2002 Judo World Masters tournament (with $500.000 in prizes), as well as the European Championship in 2004. Hambar 18 also founded the judo.tv network, based on a web 2.0 concept. A webcast for the first Romanian Edition of the Special Olympics Games, a temporary website and a powerful and advertising campaign was the e-presence kit Hambar 18 delivered to the organizers of this event. The event was endorsed by legendary athletes like Gabi Szabo and Nadia Comaneci.Hambar 18 was appointed by the Mediterranean Theatre Institute and The Bucharest Bulandra Theatre to develop the visual video scheme of Catalina Buzoianu's unique performance: the 2001 Odyssey. This venture into the theater world took a 4 people crew of Hambar 18 in a 3 months cruise in 12 Mediterranean countries, in a quest for integration of Greek tragedy and hi tech. Hambar 18 used this amazing opportunity to develop a state of the art concept of integrating theater and web presence.

Agent Cities was an international research project developed to provide an infrastructure for exploring issues in open agent systems. I'd like to get back in touch with some of our "ping" fellows worldwide. My "gateway" into the project was the nucleus at Ecole Polytechnique Federale du Lausanne via my colleague, Ion Constantinescu, PhD. The Agentcity vision: An ambient proactive environment where heterogeneous autonomous and increasingly intelligent systems representing businesses, services and individuals are able to interact with each other in a peer to peer manner and enable flexible and dynamic composition of services. Knowledge, information and service sharing is effectively available to users and organisations. When new pertinent or innovative services are available they are immediately offered to the appropriate user. Services are automatically discovered and integrated at the right level of interaction. Ontology, security, reputation and trust services in the environment should further enrich the range of businesses and private interactions possible between agent peers. Furthermore, the environment should be open to allow new services and systems to be connected and integrated semantically by coming on-line automatically. Objectives: The primary objectives of this project are: (a) to create a realistic, de-centralised open environment which enables high level semantic interoperability between systems to support formation of novel, dynamic value constellations, b) to build sufficient knowledge and understanding of dynamic open environments to enable transition to widespread usage in reliable commercial grade systems.

Founded in 1996 as a new media research and development group and using the expertise and technical resources of some friends in the IT industry, such as Netsoft.ro, Agora.ro, Ines.ro and Ituner.com, Hambar 18 performed studies and experiments in digitizing media, radio and television signals that paved the way to the most spectacular streaming events in Romania.Hambar 18 came up, via Netsoft.ro, with a political polling website covering the elections of the Romanian president in 1996, a first in the political media landscape.1997 marks the launch of the Romanian Top 100 directory, that contained links to a registered community of over 30000 websites, a representative selection for the Romanian digital presence, as well as a hierarchy based on the popularity of these websites among their users. First seen on the Internet: 1998 brought several streaming experiments that culminated with a PRO TV event, webcasted live over the Internet. The event was available first to the on-line audience and only then, a few hours later, featured in the the ProTV News.The 1999 total sun eclipse live web event was the first audience record in Hambar 18 portfolio: during the eclipse, the streaming was viewed by 400 simultaneous viewers (the limit of the licensed software server used for the event, Real Video), an... astronomical figure back in those days. First webcast event in Eastern Europe that went beyond the 120.000 viewer minutes was hailed by leading broadcast sites like streamingmedia.com and y2kwebcast.com. Hambar 18 had 10 TV stations from Romania, Hungary and Moldavia encoded and webcasted in Real Video live during the New Year 2000, known as the Y2k weekend. This was the first event to integrate content across a few countries in the region, and a local distribution record with over 25.000 successfully served streams.

This independent journal published studies in Judaism, Christianity and Islamic theology. A one of a kind project, the journal involved a network of hundreds of scholars and academic entities in a research framework. I founded and published this journal, acting as editor for its entire duration.

I have been working with William Blacker, author. in a "pre" NGO structure that really anticipated and practically built raison d'etre of the today's Mihai Eminescu Trust.This "job" is one of the dearest moments in my life, with a lot of travelling in the rural environment, working closely to a genuine gentleman, whose enthusiasm for the preservation of the environment and traditional society's values induced wonderful changes in distant and almost abandoned villages. All in one, I have spent about 5-6 years in early and then later 90s exploring Saxon, Romanian, Hungarian and Gipsy remote communities in Transylvania, helping with the restoration of churches and old mansions/houses, ruined by their use during the Communist regime.This listing is but a reference to the exceptional work of William Blacker in Romania and Transylvania, work that brought the momentum that consolidated today's MET.

I had to put together several teams that went trough the three development stages of this leading regional magazine that whose history is related to the Pro Europe League in Tirgu Mures, Romania, the fiefdom of Romanian and Hungarian leading ethnic-oriented political organizations. It worked out pretty well as an alternative public statement. This weekly magazine was selected by the Soros Foundation analysts as the best regional gazette and so I was member of the first Romanian delegation to the World Congress of Newspaper Editors in 1993.
