Worked with design engineering to revise existing components to reduce material costs and cycle times while maintaining or improving the quality of the finished product.

Began delivering parts and picking up cores after school and eventually purchased half interest in the store. I performed every job there from delivering parts to inventory control. I was responsible for day to day management of the store, human resources, inside sales and commercial accounts. I maintained outside consignment inventories with weekly sales calls and stock orders. I handled core and defect returns. We had a complete machine shop and I learned all the machine shop processes and electrical repair. I helped in the machine shop when we had more volume than our machinist could handle. I could mill heads, deck blocks, grind cranks, resize rods, float pins, perform valve jobs, replace valve guides and seats, test castings for cracks, drill and pin cracked blocks and heads, bore and hone cylinders. I rebuilt starters, generators and alternators.
