Group V International LLC, President, 2000-Present International Consulting Service Represented Duchossois Industries in nine-month feasibility study, exploring potential for Thoroughbred racing in China. Work included meetings with representatives of Central Government of China. Retained by Caymanas Entertainment. Ltd., to secure exclusive pari-mutuel license for Jamaica. CEL was selected to begin negotiations with the Jamaican Government in September, 2005. Assisted in successful campaign to obtain alternative forms of gaming for Remington Park. Retained by Codere America to assist in projects in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Panama, Uruguay, New Mexico and other Latin American countries. Also involved in long-term expansion plans for the company. Management contract with Super Resorts to operate Hipodromo Quinto Centenario Race Track and Casino and Off-Track Satellite system in Dominican Republic. Vice President, International Sales, Horsemen’s Track & Equipment Director of Racing Development, Navegante Group, international casino management, development and consulting company.

Thoroughbred Racing

 Increased attendance by 35% (fifth highest in 90-year history of team).  Assisted in design and development of $30 million stadium. Directed image enhancement marketing plan resulting in new team name, logo, colors, and mascot. Sold 22 of 26 luxury suites ($150,000 each) and doubled 1998 season ticket sales in 30 days.

Directed operations of three race tracks: Remington Park in Oklahoma City, OK, Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, LA., and Thistledown in Cleveland, OH. President, Thoroughbred Racing Association, 1992-93. Board of Trustees, New York Racing Association. First non-New Yorker ever appointed to board. Chairman of American Championship Racing Series on ABC Television Board of Trustees, Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. Actively involved in major legislative efforts in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Ohio. Led campaign to defeat Oklahoma Governor’s initiative for a statewide lottery. It was defeated 60-40 after being ahead by the same margin in early polls. It was only the second time a lottery has been defeated in over 30 attempts in this country. Responsible for the effort to obtain video poker for Louisiana Downs to offset proliferation of other forms of gaming in the state. Effort resulted in millions of dollars in revenue. Responsible for initiating involvement in riverboat gaming to deal with major declines in business at Louisiana Downs due to the threat of three river boats within five minutes of the track. Highly successful results.  Founding Board member, Equibase, racing’s international data collection agency. Employed and trained scores of successful industry professionals.

Responsible for design and construction oversite for state-of-the-art racing facility. Remington Park was recognized throughout the industry as unique in its exceptional customer and community service and knowledgeable and courteous staff. Managed Remington Park to become state’s number one tourist attraction. Facility was featured in Forbes, Sports Illustrated and on ESPN, among others. Introduced first synthetic racing surface in North America, Equitrack, which proved to be the fastest and one of the safest racing surfaces in the industry. Synthetic surfaces have now been installed in major racing facilities throughout the country. Developed and implemented innovative “Remington Friendly” customer service and employee training program. Envoys from Japan, Singapore, England and numerous associations in North America visited Remington Park to study facility design and employee training programs.Speaking engagements have included Japan Racing Association in Tokyo, Societe D’Encouragement French Registry in Paris, Jockey Club Roundtable in Saratoga Springs, NY, University of Arizona Race Track Industry Symposium, and World Gaming Congress in Las Vegas, among others.

 Created $600,000 Jim Beam Stakes, one of the first and longest standing corporate sponsorships in racing. Negotiated new union contracts, streamlined operations and introduced new marketing concepts to improve profitability almost ten-fold in five years. Founded and coordinated Spiral Spring Festival, a ten-day social and cultural event designed to benefit local charities.

 ABA Champions, 1975, Youngest general manager in professional basketball (29). Negotiated player contracts for eight of ten players on ABA Champions. Instrumental in gaining national exposure for new league, which helped bring about subsequent merger with NBA. Instituted new statistical categories now used by NCAA and NBA.
