About Vance Edwards
A flippant remark to a high school guidance counselor has somehow become a career. (After all, one doesn’t start out to be a marketing program director.) But, when she began our mandatory career guidance session by asking “what do you want to do?”, I simply replied… “Whatever needs to get done.”That philosophy served me well as I served in the Army at Fort Benning. It also adapted well as an intern for the American Red Cross and my first professional job right out of college as a low-paid copywriter for a group of radio stations. I joined MGIC’s marketing department in 1999 where I discovered my passion to helping find a way to help people buy a home by helping Loan Officers be more successful. When not working, I get to amuse myself by being part of a comedy sketch group called McMann & Tate. (the resident theater company of the Cedarburg Cultural Center.) I’m also the winner of two national playwriting contests.But my true happiness is in spending time with my wife Carrie, daughter Hailey and son Trevan at our home in Menomonee Falls.

Marketing Program DirectorVance Edwards joined MGIC in 1999 and currently serves as a Senior Marketing Program Manager. Among Vance’s responsibilities is heading up MGIC’s Marketing Promotions Team which oversees MGIC sales training efforts, marketing of MGIC programs and co-branding efforts with MGIC customers. In addition, Vance leads MGIC initiatives with Realtors and consumers, especially first-time homebuyers. He has spoken numerous times to Realtors and loan originator audiences on topics including: first-time homebuyers, QM, economic overview, mortgage industry, and sales skills. Prior to joining MGIC, Vance worked for several years at a Milwaukee advertising agency and before that as a copywriter for a group of mid-Wisconsin radio stations. Vance holds a Bachelor degree in Communication with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
