Providing assistance and support of the County’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)• Intelligent Transportation Systems: support of the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) fiber optic network • Network administration and maintenance coordination: review ATMS L2/L3 switches for performance issues and monitor general operations to support ATMS functions • Network monitoring application support and operation: Maintain and configure network monitoring application to provide reports and notifications of ATMS network performance.• CCTV hardware and applications support

Skills and Areas of responsibility:• Assist Senior Network Engineer in establishing specifications and standards for LAN/WAN/WLAN’s• Install and maintain district network in accordance with established standards.• Monitor the network performance and reliability with the centralized management software: PRTG,WhatsUp Gold and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.• Coordinate and install the cabling extension and growth of LAN/WAN/WLAN’s.• Assist in defining and implementing solutions for LAN/WAN/WLAN needs and designs.• Perform repairs and troubleshoot the copper and fiber optic cable infrastructure.• Assist with the security, communications and support systems as required.• Evaluate system performance and make recommendations for improvement.• Provide training for technical support personnel in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the system.• Establish and maintain reference materials for use by support technicians.• Establish and maintain a channel of communication using District E-mail regarding LAN/WAN/WLAN’s maintenance and operation.• Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.• Maintain confidentiality regarding all school matters.• Exhibit support for the District’s vision, mission, goals and priorities.• Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.• Provide for a safe and secure workplace.• Model and maintain high ethical standards.• Maintain positive relationships with staff and vendors.• Communicate effectively with staff and vendors.• Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.• Follow all the policies, rules and regulations.
